I was reading about the Mercedes Keyless Go system. It has 7 antennas (one for each door, another for ignition, etc). The RL supposedly has a system as well.

It sounds cool, but it's pretty pricey. I think it's around $1k to add as an option for other cars.

It wouldn't be hard (at least for me) to set up a system...the hard part would be getting the hardware...antennas, etc

The RL keys alone are about $260 ea. not to mention it isn't compatible with anything on our TSX. Only way to do this would be something aftermarket.

I wouldn't even think of doing any mod if I can't afford to use AC.

*pokes the pipeline* *looks down the pipe* Ohh.

It would be nice to see Acura implement the keyless access system…it's nice not having to dig in your pocket/backpack/whatever for keys. Just walk up, poke the button, get in, press the start button/turn the knob, and off you go!

Just curious... What is your parent's allowance for drug money and baggy pants? Have they told yet that money is the REAL gateway drug??? I think not.

yea so how old are your children if you have any? it will be interesting watching you not give them money and following them around buying movie tickets for them when they are with their friends and etc. you can say that you will give them just enough money for them to buy a ticket but then how do you know theyre not using that 6 dollars to buy some weed? the thing is, you have to trust your children. money is not a gateway drug. but having bad children is. and if you have bad children, guess who's fault it is... (hint: its not their's)

I see that irony and intraspection is lost on someone of your age, my bad. Besides my offspring and circle of friends were raised right... They wouldn't be caught dead smoking $6 weed!

Scoring 2000 or not on SAT, if you were my kids, and if you talked to other grown up like this in front of me, I would have you.

Good thing that we have the same view on parenting.

well thanks for telling me what you would not accept from your child. but just for your knowledge, many parents would not like other adults telling their children that they are being raised wrong...

on a secondary note, i apologise for misreading your post as an attack and not as a joke, still water.

It's society's fault. At work, the young kids are very polite and well-behaved. The teenagers are out of control. If you have a nice group of teenagers, and a bad apple comes along, then the crowd becomes rowdy.

There's a young kid that was ok. But then came along two other young kids...and now the first kid is causing all sorts of problems. We call their parents, and the children lie to the parents.

Let's face it...parents never hear the whole story...the child of today is not the same as children from 20 years ago. Now it's cool to cuss and what not

Yes, the RLs implementation is an excellent example.

So, no we don't need it now, but it'd be a great idea for the 2008 TSX. Agree?

yea, i can say thats true from experience. parents are helpless. you just have to have a nice kid, you cant just stash him in the closet until hes 30. but thats why private schools are the only hope for the future. theyre somewhat cleaner and protected.

How would Fred respond when Lamont makes the comment "Keys are such hassles, i hate having stuff in my pocket"

Seriously though, even if someone figured out how to do this, and did a write up....It would be too much work, and probably cost too much to eliminate this insignificant hassle.

Bottom line, you're 16 and have a lot to learn. The mod you want doesn't exist, end of story.

Yea knox. I dont care if im being the rebel teenager when you are old and when your grandson comes to visit you in your wheelchair, im pretty sure you wont like his superior attitude because he knows more than you. I guess you can call it karma? And that, my friend is my two cents.

Mark Twain once commented that after leaving home at the age of 18 and returning home 1 year later, he was amazed at how much his father had learned in only 1 year!

My well earned and learned

danishj: If you take the above comment as an attack or a personal criticism then you really do have a lot to learn about civil discourse and respect for others. Especially those that are, at least at first, trying to be of some sort of assistance to your request for help and direction. It is not my intention to lecture you rather share with you some of my hard learned life lessons not the least of which is that "respect, if it has any value at all has to be earned, not demanded."

woah cornered. lets drop the topic because there is no "right" opinion and i don't feel like arguing about how age doesnt matter as much as you guys wish it does in a forum made mostly of people a lot older than i am. i know some 18 year olds who dont have a father or mother and are rasing their younger siblings while attending college and paying bills. not everyone can be generalized into groups as you guys want them to. there are many walks of life and everyone has a lot to learn. but of course, everything i say goes to silent ears since im only 16 and i dont know as much as you do.

Nah, not going to argue with him either. Just want to ask him if he tolerates your language here.

I don't expect your dad to be anywhere around my age, you know.

29 - 16 = 13 !!!
