One flatchulant TSX!

Now I know a catalytic converter smells now and then, but mine won't stop. I've got 3500 miles on my TSX and it's been doing it from day 2 and hasn't stopped. I can drive 5 miles and sometimes I'll get 3 seperate sulphur bursts. Windows up and recycled air on doesn't stop it from coming in the cabin. Just plain smelly and embarassing.

This is my first new car, so this is my first brand spanking new exhaust system. I've never been in a car that does this so often. I realize our catalytic converter is supposed to be closer to the engine (hence under our butts) than the average car. But this is rediculous.

I also don't know what the level 2 emissions standard means to a catalytic converter's performance. But driving hard or soft doesn't matter. It STINKS either way.

Does anybody else have a smelly TSX? Please let me know if you do. And if anybody has any opinions, let's hear 'em.

If this is NOT normal, I want to know. Cause you know what the dealer is going to say to me.

Flatchulence, eh?

My first impression is that you should adopt a high fiber diet and then cut back on beans, cabbage, and other "gassy" foods. If the problem persists after that, you might want to see a doctor.

I know what smell you are talking about. . . I take it to the dealer and make sure that everything is ok. . . it could just be that your car is taking a while to break in. . .

I have noticed it after a hard run but only outside the vehicle. How do you have your a/c set? Maybe you filtertration system is not working properly.

A lot of people have had these kinds of complaints with the 2003 accords. Try out some different brands of gas and see what happens. That cured the problems for some of the accord owners that had stinky cars.

Thanks Shabaaz and others (I never touch cabbage, though my TSX does know a lot of Romanians and they do eat a lot of stuffed cabbage).

Will try switching gas and see what happens.
