Okay, what to do if rocks gives some punches on front glass?

Hi,

Im from europe, id like to know since i have my new car Honda Accord 06 only 1 month, what to do to protect myself over rocks hitting my front glass on my car,

or how do you call do front \"one\" where you actually see all drive? I hope youll get what i mean, I was driving around 100km/h and get a great hit in my glass and have scratches on the glass ...about 6-7 (AAAAAARRGGHHHH) on new car!!

small ones but still...isnt really a beautiful thing, my gf told me i\'m a complicator

but ...i have insussurance and all but ...if it breaks....well then I\'ll get a new one, but if dont (i know it wont just leave couple of scratches) I\'ll just see those tiny little holes on front glass when watching on the street all time...

am i the complitator? huh... help me guys!!

I use a protective film for my headlights made by Lamin-X. You may have an equivilant company available locally. Else maybe Lamin-X will ship globally.

Unfortunately the glass on this U.S. side is just as soft. I've got many pits on my front windshield (glass). Not much you can do. Perhaps replace the entire windshield.

buy some good polarized sunglasses. they will remove them from your sight.
Sorry but small chips (scratches) on the windshield glass are a part of life. if you drive 20mph(32kph) you will likely have fewer-but what fun is that?! my last 120,000 miles have caused my accords to have many chips on the windshield.
since you are concerned about the windshield, be prepared for the Paint chips on the front of the hood (bonnet) so I suggest the clear bra protection. clear bra (protective film) can be used on the headlights like mentioned above, but NO it cannot be used on the windshield. Good luck. Get the sunglasses!

It's called the windshield. It shields you from the wind ;-)

Are they scratches or cracks? If they are cracks, you need to fill them in before the cracks start spreading. My mom has done it to two of her vehicles (I don't know how she does it lol).

Otherwise, you could try some sort of glass polish, but hopefully it won't distort your view.

I've never heard of anyone putting a protective film on their windshield (just the headlights). I know some people might put clear tint on the front windshield (to reflect UV light, but it's on the inside)

It would be great if someone invented a clear bra for your windshield. I have some chips as well. Lot's of road construction around my area right now

Check your insurance company. Mine fills cracks for free because it would cost them more to replace the windshield down the road if it breaks. Safelite even came out to my house and I didn't have to go anywhere. It doesn't necessarily make them completely invisible but it does cover them up quite a bit and restores the integrity of the glass.

As para said, there is a company called Safelite here that will come to your house or office and repair the cracks for very cheap (even if your insurance will not pay). It is much better to repair the glass now than to wait for it to break, you will save money and be much safer.

Relax, I was just joking around. His other thread is hysterical, partly because he was drinking wine.

I got a pretty big one on my accord once and i went and got the $10 kit that's made by "fix a flat" and i spend like all afternoon on it but i think i did a pretty nice job. I can't even tell it's there even when trying to look for it.

Some oil places repair your windshield for free. I don't normally have my oil changed at jiffy lube, but I was in a hury and past due so I pulled in. They saw the chip in the windshield and said they could fix it for free and asked for my insurance card. I gave it to them, they called cleared things up, handed the phone to me, I talked to my agent for a second and hung up, then my windshield crack was repaired free of charge.

You can call the windshield people to fix it. They can fix many type of damages without replacing the windshield.

Depending on the type of damages, sometimes you will not notice the damage after they fix it.

my friend fixes windshield for living. He says whoever fixes your windshield, just ask for the PGP glass. He says the glass from Africa and China is very bad. (but really cheap)
