I did try and search everywhere for oil or oil change and didn't get a hit. Simple question for those that change their own oil - what brand do you use, and would you recommend a particular filter brand? Royal Purple seems to have my attention, but I cannot find any data here or elsewhere that objectively rates motor oil (it's all marketing or old data).

 

searching on "oil" isn't helpful because its a 3 letter word. You have to get a bit creative. I searched on "valvoline" and found a bunch of threads. Here are some of the pertinent ones:
