Oil Change
Oil Change
Hey guys,
I tried to do a search, but i couldn't figure out a way for the search thingie to search for "oil". No matter what i tried, it always didn't search for the word oil, only change; and that came up with a million random threads.
Anyways... I remember a thread on this a little while ago but i couldn't find it nor do i remember the outcome.
I'm mainly highway driving with the occassional stop and go traffic on the highway.
Is it acceptable/safe to go the full 10,000 mile interval? Or do most of you do a 5000 miles change? Do you guys think i'd be safe doing a 7500 mile interval?
Also, do you guys know if the dealership uses dino oil or synthetic?
I'm at 13000 miles now so i'm about to go for my 2nd oil change. I found a coupon for $22 oil change at the dealer. That sounds like a good deal.
thanks

It's a sticky, and you would not be able to post in the thread.
Unless you ask them to or bring your own, the dealers or any other place use "dino" engine oil. If you change engine oil (and filter) every 5,000 miles, even if you drive in stop-and-go traffic, you really don't need to go synthetic route from what I know.
