Oil change is $64.95???? WTF???
Ok so I bring my TSX for its 1st oil change today. The guy says its going to be $64.95!!!!! I remember when the few times I brought my Type R to Acura for an oil change it was $30. He said that oil changes have been $45 for the last 10 yrs and since 2 months ago they raised the price to $64.95. And they use quaker state too!!!!
Since I told him that the engine burned a bunch of oil theyre going to do a oil consumption test so the oil change is free cause of the warrenty.
The guy noticed that I had some Super White H11 bulbs in my glove. He offered to get those installed for me too. When he was going all the paperwork for me he said it will be $60 to install them. I was like , then said its okay I'll do it myself. Then I told him that the other Service guy (the one I dealt w/ my R, and who recently transfered to another Acura dealer) would have done it for me. So the guy was like "Oh you know him, ok we'll do it for free then"

I took my TSX to the Honda dealer for an Oil change. Same exact parts and good service. It cost me $24.95 for the Oil change, and a about $10.00 to get the tires rotated.

ouch. I just got my oil changed in my TSX (first time) and it only cost me 32$ at Columbia Acura here in Cincy. This was just conventional oil, I asked about synthetic and they said to wait until I have around 15 or 20k miles on the car.
64$ is nuts

Check this out! I called another Acura dealership and was told an oil change is $30.00 for all cars except for an NSX. The I called the place where my car is now and asked for an oil change for a 00 Type R and they said $59.00!! Then I said my mom has a TSX and she said its the same!!!!
The service who helped me said it was $65.00. WTH!

FWIW, my oil change was $28 at the dealer.

That's pretty messed up. When I had my first oil change for my TSX at around 6000 miles my oil change was free (Lindsay Acura, Columbus, OH). Although I had to wait a long time for some reason, so maybe they gave it to me for free because of the wait. Or maybe the first one is free.

Geez, which Acura dealer are you going to? Maybe they'll change the price to a bargain deal at $75 next month, but "just for you, we'll do it for only $69."
Take it to a different shop or do it yourself. Tell ya what... bring it to my house and I'll change it for you for $40.
edit: And how is it that the service advisor "noticed" some H11 bulbs in your glovebox? Why the h3ll was he looking in there? Did he open up your center console to take a peek at your other personal belongings, too?

I think I'll do it myself from now on, I still have some Hamp filters in my garage. I hope theyre the same size as Integra ones.
I just need to buy some Mobil 1.
He noticed the bulbs because he asked where the wheel lock key was and opened the glove.

It's a matter of whatever the sucker will pay for an oil change.
There's is--or was--a franchise that had both Honda and Acura dealerships in the Burlingame, California area. Since I would NEVER have considered them for any purchase or service, I do not know if that particular franchise's dealerships are still there, so this may be history.
They had the gall to advertise more expensive oil changes for Acuras than for the exact same service for Hondas. It didn't matter that the oil filters and oil capacities were identical. There's NO reason to pay more for an oil change because the car is an Acura.
Instead, find a CREDIBLE dealer with the best combination of price, service, and value, and save the receipts in case you need to prove that you maintained the vehicle.

at my dealer they have a price comparison board for oil changes, tire rotation, etc. they listed the oil change as $24.95, i'm assuming its for all acuras except NSX...
i'm getting my 7500K service done tomorrow. service dood said it would be $95 inc/tax...does that sound right to anyone?

Isn't the first 2 oil change free? I thought this was a Acura wide politic. It's my 4th acura and I've never paid the first 2 oil change. I know it's not a dealer thing since I bought my car from a different dealer everytime.

$95 for a 7500-mile service? What's included in that?
Hmmm. lemme guess...
• Change engine oil and filter
• Top off all fluids (if needed) <-- they'll pour in 99 cents worth of windshield washer fluid for you
• Rotate tires
• Check tire pressure
• Check this, check that. <-- that's a visual inspection only. You've got 2 eyes, use 'em.
You're basically paying $95 for an oil change.
Just my 2 cents.

Today, I just had my first oil change done at 3,000 miles, and I paid 22.95. I went to Acura 101 in Calabasas, they are always nice and very helpful. Also my brother bought his car there and getting service there, he loves there service compare to "can't do anything for you at Goldcoast Acura in Ventura" <----Goldcoast Acura SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that you should report this to the Acura headquarters. They do keep an eye on their dealers, and if they do non-sense like this, it's not a good image for Acura and they probably will say something to them. I know that it's up to the individual dealers to set their service pricing, but if when it's so out of line like this, Acura may just say something about it to them.

What is this 5000 mile and 7500 mile service crap? I personally do, and would recommend going by the service manual which dictates an oil change every 10000 miles for average use. I'm not sure why you would do it more often unless you like to give your dealer your money.

wut im wondering is why didn't any of you dudes work up a deal with oil changes too... got my tsx~ jus hit 4500 and getting my first oil change ... on the house~... the great thing about Acura of Lynnwood, WA is taht we worked up a tight ass deal for free oil changes..plus service(tires, fuel check, etc) for the next 30,000
all in the lose price of involce~
let me say this wasn't easy though ... took about 3.5 weeks to bust out the deal~
if you are really cheap~ complain about the service and blab about how much you have to wait~ look pissed and ask for the manager~ then see if you cang et the oil check up for free~
I love my TSX~

As far as free oil changes go, I got my first for free. That's because I attended an owners orientation meeting. If your one of those every 10K oil changers, all I can say is WOW. Such a deal. Lets say they charge $25.00 an oil change, you got a sweet $75.00 off, apart from the deal you got on the car. I'm a salesman and nothin is free, the dealer never gives anything away. Anyone out there considering a new car, beware of the oil change gimmick. The internal cost for the dealer is minimal regarding oil and filter. And don't think the guy doing it is a certified Acura tech. He's more than likely a guy that wants to be one when he grows up.

I'll call back those 2 places on Monday and ask the person for their name and price of oil changes. Then I'll do the same w/ Concord. Then I'll report it.
Heres a pic of a "special" coupon for a discounted oil change at the bottom of my service invoice. Check out this BS......... $20 off the regulat price........woohoo!!!

You mean you guys are actually getting charged for your first 2 services? My first 2 are free (already had my first one - oil change - at 8000 kms) and my second one is coming up here in the next few weeks (oil change & tire rotation). It was the same on my last Acura (1.7 EL...only in Canada)
I'd talk to the sales manager about this and try to work a deal!

When the guy quoted me $65, I was like WTF, then he said since I told him the car had burned some oil that they needed to do an oil consumtion test. Oil change included and all under warrenty.

i listened to XPLORx4's feedback and just got a oil change this weekend. considering the 10k service is coming up and that's approx $94 as well. my oil change was only $24.95 + tax incl free car wash, they also had mobile 1 synthetic option for $49.99 but the service dood said i should just bring my own syn oil next time since it's cheaper!
