Is this normal?

Today was one of the first days that it was really cold and I auto started the car for a good 7-10 mins. When I was pulling out of the spot I heard a cranking sound coming from the gas pedal. I heard that sound before when I was breaking awhile back and someone on this forum said it was some kind of pump. Should I presume that it is the same pump? This happened for the first 5 mins of driving, every stop sign and red light I was at I could hear it.

Define "really cold". and did the sound really come from the pedal?

Doesn't sound normal to me, and it's been really freaking cold up here (below 0F)...

temp was 25ish and the cranking sound came only when I pressed on the gas from the start, after my foot was on it for 3-5 secs the sound would go away.
