Hey what up everyone, just bought a 2007 Brand Spanking Used Acura TSX, but have one questions I want to ask. My TSX exterior color is alabaster silver metallic, and noticed that the bumper's paint is somewhat darker than the panels around it. I just installed the A-SPEC lip kit and its more noticeable now. Is that how its supposed to look like?

It's very possible that your 'spanking used' car was in an accident or at least some kind of moderate fender bender required a repaint of the bumper. The Acura paints aren't the easiest of paints to match, so it's possible that's in fact what happened. Did you happen to run a Carfax report before purchasing. Those things can sometimes be invaluable.

yeah i ran a carfax and everything turned out ok, no accidents or anything. I bought as an acura certified used car. I noticed some pictures on cardomain on some cars with the a spec lip kit and it looked similar to mine. the lip kit looked lighter silver, the bumper a little bit darker and the fender just a little lighter. Is there any other way to find out for sure?

the bumper is made of a plastic so sometimes it looks like a different color. Does not nessarily mean the car was in an accident. Our 05 honda civic ex-se, bought new, bumper was a bit darker than the rest of the car. It was never in an accident. it was gray (magnesium gray)

So I'm just wondering if all silver TSX's are like that.

well... maybe so.

I see alot of white ones like that too.

that's why I didn't buy white.
I had a white all ordered, but when it arrived I refused and ordered a CGP.

that sort of thing really bugs me too.

how much did you pay for the kit and installation fee?? Or you just installed them by yourself?

yes I would have to say that it is normal. Next time you see a TL or TSX with WDP (white) or silver look at them close. I bet you will see the same thing as your car.

I notice the same thing on my MR. It might have to do with different (more flexible) paint being used on the plastic bumpers.
