New TSX'er

Greetings Fellow TSX'ers!

My wife and I drove home our new 2005 TSX last Tuesday. It's Milano Red with the Ebony interior, auto trans, non-nav. My wife was rear-ended several years ago, and has back and neck problems and lots of cars are uncomfortable for her. We went to check out the TSX after seeing it on TV as one of Car and Driver's Ten Best, and once she sat in it, it was all over but the signing!

We're really impressed with how much fun this thing is to drive! We've never owned a car in this class before, and didn't realize how responsive it could be. It's great! And 30 mpg on the first fill-up doesn't hurt either!

Kudos to Buerkle Acura in Brooklyn Center, MN for a most pleasant buying experience. It took some work on their part to put the deal together and they really came through. I'd recommend them to anyone in the market in the Twin Cities area.

We're looking foward to lots of miles of fun-filled cruising in the new ride!

Congratulations! But, be warned; it's time to secretly start working on your sprinting ability because your wife is gonna be racing you to the driver's seat.

Before we got our TSX, I had to do ALL the driving. Now, I have to be vigilant and quick on my feet to get to the driver's seat before my wife. She's not even that fast...just damn sneaky.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Everybody! This is our first Japanese car in a couple of decades, so it's quite a change for us. Had a serious case of Jap-phobia, for no reason that I was ever able to figure out. I think this car is going to be a blast!

Basically, it's the wife's daily driver. But I get control on the weekends, or when we go somewhere together.

Congrats on the new TSX Tom. I'm curious how you made out on the deal. I was at Buerkle a couple months ago getting our MDX serviced and talked to our original sales guy (Jeremy) about both the TL and TSX. I believe he said both were selling at MSRP. I particularly remember him saying there wasn't as much room to work with on the TSX to begin with so don't expect sub sticker any time soon. Just wondering if that was still the case!
My wife's been bugging me to trade in our old Camry for about 2 years and I just don't like spending money. It is fun looking though !

I've driven both the TSX and TLs as loaners and honestly I think I preferred the TSX. It just seemed to have better visibility and ergonomics.

I was pretty pleased with the deal I got. I traded in a Chevy Impala that was nearly $7,000 upside down in (lack of) equity. I'm not exactly sure how it all worked out, but I was able to get into the TSX with a reasonable down payment and not terribly overfinanced. According to the paperwork, the trade allowance was about $1300 over the KBB value. Whether they actually thought the car was worth that, or it was a discount on the TSX is one of those things that buyers rarely actually know - or care - about.

These guys really worked to put this together for me! On the other side of the coin, I talked to a guy at Bloomington Acura, and told him the situation I was in. He decided in the parking lot that it was too much work for them and they'd never be able to make it work, and we never even got into his office. His loss!

My sales guy at Buerkle was Jon Murrow. He's been selling Acuras for over 18 years, and he's a great guy and real pro! Look him up, if you decide to go back.

TomK

PS - Pardon my middle-aged ignorance - but what does mean?
