New owner here ...
Hello all!
I am glad that i found this great Acura community.
Last night we (wife & I) purchased a nice 2004 TSX 5AT with Navi. Car has ~44k miles, one owner. We bought the car from a Toyota dealer who has NO records of the car, other than clean carfax. (it was a trade in)
Car drives great and everything seems to be working great, except the driver side sun visor. It keeps tilting down by itself. I think it should be replaced and i already have scheduled a visit to Acura dealer to get this addressed ASAP.
I have some questions on the car and if these are repeats, please excuse ,e. I've been reading this forum for the last 6 hours and i got a lot information out of it.
First thing i am planning to do is filter and oil change with Mobil 1 Syn. Then, i would do the air filter.
What should be the next thing i need to do in terms of maintenance? I really have no idea what the previous owner did and did not do.
![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
1. Should i replace/flush the AT fluid at 44k miles?
2. Should i replace/flush the coolant or it is still early?
3. Should i replace/flush brake fluid at 44k miles?
4. What else do i need to do at this mileage? Any other filters? Belts?
5. Should i pay the dealer $150 to do a diagnostic check on the car?
I got only one key and one remote with the car. Is the dealer the only place where i can order a spare key and remote or there are other, cheaper alternative? Does anyone know what i should expect to pay at the dealer for this?
Thank you in advace for any information!

Welcome to Azine and congrats on your purchase. I think, typically, you don't need to replace/flush the AT fluid, coolant, or brake fluid. Those are usually reserved for 60K mi. services. However, the enthusiasts on here will most likely recommend that you do these at 30K miles. I would inspect the belt, make sure its in decent shape and at proper tension, but I wouldn't replace it unless you see a problem. I would replace the air filter and the cabin filter (behind the glove box). I'll let moda_way address the key questions as he is our "key master"
By all means, if you see anything wrong with the car and it can possibly fall under warranty coverage you should take it in to the dealer before your warranty runs out.

As far as the warranty goes, i'm planning to purchase extended warranty when i reach 48-49k miles. I read about issues with the Navi unit and this really scares me.
I'm looking for the best source to buy extended Acura warranty....

I am also looking for a replacement for my spare keys. The dealer quoted me around $300 for a new key and remote as both of them must be programmed at the dealership. I would suggest getting the remote off ebay. Just be careful which one you get.
I was looking for another tsx with the same details you have, navigation, mileage and year. May I ask what you paid for?

$18.2k ... but the car requires a visit to the dealer for small cosmetic adjustments.

Congrats on the new car! A once-over check is a good idea. I did one at a private mechanic for $60 when I bought my 2004 CPO TSX. If nothing else, it gives you peace of mind.

Check the following user online and have him mill them down to fit our profile:
FLBusa: https://acurazine.com/forums/sponsored-sales-group-buys-10/2007-tl-switchblade-key-354066/
Once milled, contact a local locksmith who can cut and program Acura keys following FLBusa instructions for cutting the key. The locksmith will have the correct computer to program the immobilizer chip. Make sure that the locksmith deletes all immobilizer chips from the ECU and then program the ones you have just in case. I personally love my Accord key most due to its size, but the TL switchblade is a nice to have.
You will then want to follow the instructions to program the transmitters (can be done ahead of time when you get the keys)

Congrats on the new car though! Like jlukja said, i would just wait until 60k to flush AT fluid otherwise, just inspect things. Not a bad price either considering when i traded in my 04 AT non navi with 41k miles, they gave me $17k for it. You shouldn't have any issues but if you do, just keep searching here and you will find it
