new lexus is
anyone think that the dash of the new is is really really similar to the tsx's? pictures of it can be found at lexus.com unless someone wants to upload it. in addition to looking similar, i've read that the is will also be using fake wood and fake aluminum for the interior trim much like the tsx. of course that's where the similarities end but i still found it interesting. back of the lexus also looks like the new hyundai sonata.... lets hope the coupe version will be better.

Under 27K bare. Loaded I'm sure it will be over 30 easiliy. I personally don't think it offers enough to trade in the TSX. Now if I didn't have a car I'd definently be looking at the 250 very closely.
What they need to bridge the gap is an IS300 with the GS's 245HP 3L.

The IS will be a pig at nearly 3500lbs. Not sure the extra 1HP, 19lb-ft and RWD will be enough to overcome all that weight.
A TSX with Hondata will probly walk all over the 250.
Not to mention that the 06 TSX will in all likelyhood have more power. I'm not sure where Lexux is coming from with the 250. They barely match the TSX's power output and come in well below a 325 and several other competitors. I could understand if an IS300 was offered but I'm just puzzled by this decesion to release a 250 and 350.
It would make sense if the 350 was positioned as a value leader at 35K but all signs are pointing to 40k.

Maybe the TSX started a new segment here, the refined fuel-efficient not-too-fast sporty sedan.
And yeah, the back end on the Lexus rules, I love it. I'm just not sure if I will like the front when I see it in person, on the photos it's nice but I'm afraid it would age quickly and just blend in with most other Japanese car front-ends.

I mentioned that a few weeks ago in the other IS thread in Auto News.
