new guy

Hello all. This seems like a good forum with respectful members and excellent info.

I am new to Acura. I've previously owned 9 VW's; 65 Beetle, 68 Beetle, 71 Squareback 84 GTI, 86 Cabriolet, 87 Jetta GL, 90 Passat, 02 Eurovan, 03 Golf TDi, 2 Honda's; 79 Accord hatchback, 93 Accord LX, 69 Pontiac Grand Prix, (Dad had a 65 Bonneville- that car was Superman to me. That was the car that made me love cars unfortunartely my dream car was a nighmare), 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy Suburban with 8 inch lift and supercharger (don't ask), 2 Toyota's; 77 Corolla liftback SR-5, 86 Toyota Van LE, 81, Renault LeCar and 1 79 Volvo 244 wagon. I currently own an 08 Honda Odyssey EX-L with NAV(traded in my Golf TDi), an 07 Scion xB that I tinker on I've got it up to 132 WHP and an 08 Acura TSX(traded in my Eurovan).

I've owned my TSX for 15 days now and I absolutely love it more each time I drive it. It is not the quickest car I've ever owned but it just might be the most brilliantly executed car I've ever owned. I've had it up to 142 MPH and have gotten the average fuel consumption up to 37 mpg on a recent trip to AR. My wife wasn't exactly sold on TSX and it was with mixed emotions I pulled the trigger on it. I now find myself setting the seat back to MY memory setting just about everytime I get into it. I'm gald I rolled the dice on this one. She admitted to me yesterday that she absolutely loves the car. I look forward to talking TSX with a lot of you.

Welcome to the Forum. TSX is such a great car for the bargain. Since it is brand new, I would detail it, put paint sealant (because the paint is poor), and slap a clear bra especially on the front and under the door handles. The fog light lens tend to crack (mine did so did others). There is good information in protecting the fog lens here. This is a nice looking car and will look nice for so many years (I think so) just like the old body of the Z which never runs out of style. Tell us more about your car like does it have a NAVi, 6MT, or what?

Thank you

I'll get some pics up as soon as I can get the car clean. It keeps raining here in MO.

As for the vitals: It's an 08, it had 8 miles on it when I took delivery of the car. 6MT, Black Nighthawk Pearl with Ebony interior, no nav. My Odyssey EX-L has the nav. I know I haven't explored all of it's features but it doesn't seem to be able to find any more addresses than my Garmin. Order of importance for me was 6MT, ext color, int color, nav. BTW, had they found me a blk on blk 6MT with nav, I would have taken that. Nav just wasn't a deal breaker or deal maker for me. The 5AT feels like a totally different car to me so for me it had to be a 6 speed.

I purchased the car from Jay Wolfe Acura in KC, MO and they had to do some searching to find my car as 08 selection is dwindling fast. They were excellent to deal with and I would recommend them to friends and family without hesitation. I traded in my 02 Eurovan and they gave me 3600.00 over what I know the car was worth.

My only nit is when I set the cruise, the middle console is not a very comfortable spot to rest the right knee. I feel that could have been shaped better. It's almost a disincentive to use the cruise control.

I've done nothing to the vehicle as of yet. First order of business is tinting the windows and then perhaps some wheels or an intake. I am vacilatiing on 18" or 19" and the TPMS gives me pause. Some suggestions here would be welcome. I love the car as is so I'm very hesitant to screw with it.

Congrats on your new ride as well. I noticed it's black with biege interior or whatever they call it. The earlier stock rims are definately prettier than the 08's

Glad to be the first mod to welcome you. I think you'll find that there is plenty to keep you busy with the TSX. All sorts of electronic modules are available from a forum vendor (KPTechnologies) to make opening the sunroof easier or just like you can open the windows from the key fob, his modules allow you to close them from the fob (search around). You'll find engine mods to be limited, but there are many choices within those limited mods. Enjoy the TSX and again, welcome!!

Tint it, grab some rims you like and get the TPMS on them.

Then when you are ready for an intake, look for a few of these and pick one:

Fujita F5
Injen
AEM
Weapon R Secret Weapon

I had the Weapon R on mine and it really gave the TSX a nice kick in the pants with pick up, also sounded beautiful when you punch the throttle.

Welcome to Azine... you'll be hooked soon!

Um ... don't you have the two keyless entry remotes linked ... and the memory positions set for the fobs? One's number 1, and the other 2, for a reason.... (p. 132 of the OM)

As I said, check that Easter Egg thread, you'll have a ball with it.

I was wondering about that. I tried to impress my wife with it when I first brought the car home needless to say she wasn't very impressed when it didn't work. "Next!" You saved me a phone call to the dealer and the probable "Duh. Page 132 of the manual will tell you, dummy."

you have to upload them to a third party photo site, like photobucket or yahoo photos, and then post the links here.

There's a sticky (in the FAQ section) that tells how. It's not hard.

How many miles are on the car? I presume that it was preowned.

Currently the odo reads 2345 Mine is/was new when purchased.

Regarding the speed, I had a little help from a grade up to about 135mph.
Not sure how much faster if at all it would go.
