I like it... looks more upscale and kind of resembles a Phaeton/5-Series to me. Hopefully it'll have a more powerful engine. From the responses, say it looks like a Maxima... I disagree. I like it, though not really a knockout, it has the Lexus style that doesn't offend... Will the new RL be against this?

Not a miss, but not a hit either. I think they could've done without the goofy little headlights. The interior layout isn't as nice as the TL's, but it isn't so bad. The shift knob is ugly, so is the shiftgate. The LED taillights look like the Infiniti I35's. It looks very bloated from the outside.

I do think it's more attractive than the Maxima. But the Mercedes E320 looks much better.

Compared to the maxima, hit! Compared to a lot of other sport sedans, miss.

Question Hmmm...

Well...like some new designs, I'm sure it will just grow on me. It seems to me however, that this car looks much less aggressive than the current GS. The front is too swoopy and the chrome around the outer headlamps doesn't help with its sporting intentions. The rear end (while VERY maxima like) recalls the original GS if you ask me--looks like the designers created a modern interpetation of them. The rear bumper is BIG and BLOATED from a rear 3/4 view--only major ugly part.

Overall, not an offensive design. It is modern, elegant, and somewhat sporty. But this design really doesn't break any new ground. Door handles look like classic MBZ handles, the hoffmeister kink in the rear passenger windows are obviously BMW. Not bad things to copy...but just seemingly obvious copying to me.

Not bad looking at all...and I'm sure it'll really grow on me. Any feature specifications on this thing?

I'm reading some of the comments on that board...some of the Lexus fans are even more critical of the new GS than we are!
