I'm afraid that's pretty much the price you'll have to pay for a professionnal job done correctly.

Try some bodyshops off exit 62 on route 80.

I forgot the name of the shop, but it's literally 0.1 miles away from the exit.

paint noob speaking:
for a platic piece of stick like the lip...what exactly does "professional job" entail compared otherwise ?

Also, I I am guessing theshop priced it based on the car....is there a way I can bring the lip to the shop and not disclosing the car model for them to find the correct color ?

The place I was going to get it done was in Long Island and asked $80. They are the auto body shop that the BMW and Nissan dealers used in the area use. I don't know about professional quality steps, but I know they are top notch.

whats so professional about painting a lip spoiler. its not like they have to paint the whole car and make it look perfect. prime the thing..put a couple coats on it. flip it over...hit it again. and spray some clear on it..dont get easier than that. i mean as long as there are no drip marks, what could go wrong. anybody that has experience with autobody paint can paint that thing with their eyes closed.
lord please help me find a bodyshop with will do a good job and charge under 100..im getting too anxious.

Just do it yourself, as the above poster said. For such a small piece it is seriously not rocket science. Go to towerpaint.com and get a spraybomb filled with PPG paint in your color code. I did my mud guards:

If you blow it, which is not likely, hey then you can get a pro to do it.

Hey, those are the stock tips. And by spray bomb I just mean the 16oz spray can of paint. It's a very simple process, I don't know how your spoiler is coming but I'd hope that it's primed and ready to go. If it's already primed, make sure it's clean just do a few LIGHT coats of paint. You want to build up the color slowly. If you try to spray a thick coat, you'll get runs and drips in the paint. You can wetsand with a very high grit (1000-1500) after you're done, then build up some clear coat at the end. Make sure you get a bunch of clearcoat on to protect. I used Krylon brand. So far the mudguards have been holding up very well. If you are really interested in learning how to paint match your parts, just get the paint, clearcoat, and wetsandpaper and practice on a plastic item. I first practiced on a cellphone:

It's a useful skill to have.. you can paint match anything; fog light housings, speaker grills, whatever.
