Question Necessary to keep fuel door (hinge/latch) greased?

After detailing my ride today, I noticed that the grease in the fuel door hinge & latch area was no longer there. I presume it must have washed away since I was using a pressure sprayer while rinsing. Anyway, I haven't put any grease back on since I wanted to see what everyone's opinion was....

I noticed that my fuel door doesn't open as easily anymore...I guess this is why

Anyway, it's not a big thing to worry about IMHO since it's not part of any essential system, and you probably only open it once a week or so.

If you want to grease it, go ahead

I'd get some white grease to put on the hinge. IMHO, WD-40 has an instant effect, but removes whatever lubricant is already there, and wears out easily itself...
