I checked the Owner's Manual and the Navigation System Manual....

I can't find anything on how to change the voice from female to male.

Is this something only on the US models???? or is it a joke???

 

No, you can change it. Press the config button and I think its #3 or 4 at the top you press. You should see something that will allow you to change it.

Dunno if Canada models are different though...

meh why change...male one sounds like tv-commercial voice...

I found the volume, language, voice on/off ....

If the Can models don't have the option ..... it would suck.

 

It's on the female one. I guess that's the default

Like joe said we can change it here in the US models. I wanted my TSX to sound either like KITT or one of the family guy characters, either the voice of Stewie, Peter, or Brian would be hilarious.

 

In the Set-Up menu, do you see a button that says "Female or Male"?

 

It is the on the 3rd setup screen. There is a "select" button and you can select male or female voice.

 

I don't have that button.

D@mn that sucks - another option that Can doesn't have.... Probably because of some stupid rule/regulation ...

The system has 2 memory slots for the voice program.

In the US 1 location is female, the other is male- both english

In Canada 1 location is english female, the other is french female.

The system hardware is fixed, regardless of destination. Acura needed bilingual, so we lost the dude's voice. Thats why we didn't get Navi on the TSX for 04.

??? How do they make a nav voice sound rude, unbathed and with hairy legs? Also if you go off route does it just give up and turn it's self off?

I'm going to change the TSX part later - when I get the right shot.

 

We should have the option of choosing for bilingual navi. I am French and I prefer having the female/male option over the bilingual. Most of the time the translation is f%ck.
