Navi lockout

Not a big deal, but it would be nice to lock out certain portions of the nav for when others/valet will be driving. I know you can put a PIN # on the user addresses, but that doesn't stop anyone from seeing your previous destinations.

So far 50% of the valets have at least pressed the OK button and tooled around a bit. One was pretty excited and talkative about the car when he finally brought it around (hey, great car, 2003/2004? does it play DVD movies, etc..), so I figured he tested it out. Was nice to hear the comments though.

..Maybe in a future upgrade.

Any bad valet experiences yet? (btw, so far all v-parking as been done at various disney world hotels)

howabout a mode where if the valet key is in the ignition... the Navi starts blinking a message saying "YOU ARE BEING MONITORED BY A VIDEO CAMERA FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION."

I think a partial lockout for vallet would be silly, they dont need navi to move the car 100ft. If they get lost in that distance then they have reall issues. I would perfer a full lockout.

If you are interested, I could show you a way to add a switch to either turn off the navi screen backlight so they never see the screen or just turn off the entire navi video.

Definitely silly for navigation issues. For valet I'd say full lockout would be the method, but I was thinking of the partial mode just for flexibility. (I dunno, you let a friend borrow the car but don't want them concentrating on the nav while driving/mucking up your settings/etc... Just throwing out ideas)

A hidden navi-off or screen-off switch would be pretty cool if it wasn't too difficult to install.

The funny way to go would be to add a switch to the bus system. If the DISP BUS has an open on it, the touchscreen and navigation buttons dont work. They can still see the screen, but they will never get past the 'ok' screen, lol
