Got that wonderful call today at work...my CP/ebony 6spd w/o nav arrived fresh off the truck today with 5 miles on her. Its so sweet even driving it easy while i break in the engine....speaking of, I need to take some longer road trips here in the near future, and I'd much rather take the TSX over my old accord but whatta you guys think about taking extended trips (highway, same RPM) in the first few hundred miles on the car? I need to take a 250mile trip (one way) in a week and a half and a 600 mile trip in four weeks....at the rate Im going, I will probably have about 500~ on the odometer before the first trip. This kinda goes against the thread i read on breaking in the engine...any suggestions? Thanks....

I just put my deposit today for a CG/Ebony 6speed w/ navi. How long do you think it will take them to get it in??? I can't wait!!!

 

I ordered it on March 13th....but they found one that was already coming into another dealer, so they worked it out with the other dealer and when it hit port last week or so, they redirected it to me

Any help on the roadtrips/break in question?

 

I have the same issue; we pick up our SSM/6M/Non-Nav tomorrow and have a road trip to visit family the next day, a 200 mile roundtrip all interstate driving. Should we take our old Accord?

Well it's not great for the engine but you can still make the trip. I would recomend varying the throttle as much as possible during the trip. You don't want to drive along at 70mph for three hours with the cruise control on. Also leave plenty of distance between you and the guy in front of you because you don't want to have to do a high speed stop and glaze the pads or leave deposits on the rotors.

 

You know the routine. Post some pics. Especially, the CG with tint. I'm still debating tinting mine or not.
