My TSX Clean and Detailed!

I wanted to share some pictures of my work. I got myself a Griot's Garage random orbital publisher kit (6" and 3") and tackled the TSX for a nice well spent one and a half days worth of work.

The entire process included:
1-) Car wash with Dawn
2-) Clay
3-) car Wash with Car Wash Soap
4-) Griot's Machine Polish 3 (I found out this polish is good for very light scratches and swirl marks, but for deeper scratches yo might need two coats or Polish #2. It did removed a lot of scuffs and marks on the bumpers and hood from road debris.

From this point on I used different products on each side of the vehicle to see which was better. The results were basically the same to the eye.

5-) Driver's side was coated with Black Fire Wet Diamond Sealant and Griot's Garage Best of Car Show Wax. The passenger side was done with Mothers Seal and Glaze, topped with Mothers Carnauba Wax.

I used to be a long standing fan of Griots products. That is, until I bought a bottle of Zaino. The difference is staggering.

Same car, same color. Griot's is definitely good stuff. The best I had used up until I started searching around for something with UV protectant in it. I ended up on the Zaino site. I will say, on my experience, the Griots "probably" lasts a little longer, but the Zaino just gives it such a deep, wet look it almost looks like a different color. And my paint is clean. I clay it twice a year and take care of it, so I didn't bother with all the other crap on their website they tell you to do. Just the Z2 Pro show car polish (I think that's what its called) I also have their glass polish I use at the same time. Its also a major butt kicker!

This is just a quick cell pic, but as I was just washing it I remembered this thread. I last put Zaino on, prob. about 2 months ago maybe? So its still pretty fresh.

If you look closely, that's my brother's 2013 Boss 302 Mustang in the reflection.

I really never liked Zaino because it never gave that butter smooth finish. I use Mother's Reflections car wax.

Yep. Actually bought that from them as well. The polish just doesn't feel like when you touch a new car at the auto show. I get this from Mother's Reflections.

Great job!

I haven't tried Zaino but I do have Collinite 845 and 885(same product as 467 but different markets). It's a great winter wax in terms of durability and the shine is great for a product made to last 4-6 months. It contains carnauba and was shocked to find out that it could compete with full synthetics (sealants) and still have that carnauba shine.

Thanks guy.

Unfortunately my car had a minor incident while parked right in front of my house. A neighbor's son was backing out of their driveway and hit my rear quarter panel. Car is at the shop at the moment being repaired. I'm nervously waiting to see the results this coming week.

I've used Zaino before as well and it's not my favorite, even with a proper clay bar and RO application.

Car looks nice OP, thanks for sharing!
