My trunk is broken!

I got to my car and went to open the trunk and it didn't open. Inittially i thought that the car was locked but it wasn't. I am talking about the black button above the license palte. I am able to open the trunk via the key fob and the lever by the front door. Does anyone have any ideas why this is malfunctioning? It is almost like the button died. I have sheduled my car to go in next week with a long list of problems. The reception lady thought i was nuts. Here are my problems. I don't know whether i am writing them out of boredem or not.

Left drivers window chafes the window sill when opening and closing.
The trunk problem.
Driver seat moving foward under breaking.
Ext. temp display is broken.
Tiptronic does not register some downshifts.
Drivers door makes a weird creak when opening.
Rear deck speakers pop.
The ignition takes to long to start the car.

I asked the reception lady if i can have the new TL for a loaner and she said only if your car is here for longer then a day. I was like"did you here nay of the problems i said"?

well you have to unlock ALL the doors by pressing the fob 2 times to unlock all doors. or pressing the unlock button on the drivers door before the trunk will open. otherwise what is to keep people from walking by and opening your trunk?

no need to take it to the dealer , it's operator error.

Negaitve bass. Operator knows exactly what he is doing. I pressed unlock 5 times, went into the car and pressed the unlock button on the drivers door and it still did not open. I would not waste other peroples time with a problem that could easily be fixed.

Hey [justinnum1]...don't worry, your trunk button above the license plate is not broken. I had the same problem before, but it was just a switch that wasn't turned on at PreDelivery Inspection. The switch that I'm talking about is in your glove box. Open up your glove box and at the very top of the inside is a switch, you must croutch down to see it or just feel around for it. Most likely, this switch is in the "OFF" postion, all you have to do is switch it to the "ON" position and your black button should work fine. I actually like this option of being able to disable that button. But yea...the fix is as simple as that. Hope that helped

oops, sorry, are you sure your car doesnt have a switch in the glove box. well actually i belive it is just outside the glove box opening under the actual door of the glove box.
try sitting in the passenger seat when looking for it. if i recall its hard to see from the drivers seat.
try giving it a press turning it on and off a couplke times and leave it in the on position.

EDIT: ok i just looked and i was right that switch is high upinside the glove box, you almost have to lay your head on the passenger seat and look up. it says MAIN on it. and slides left to right. try that... let us know

Hey justin, it's funny how you mentioned the rear speakers popping, because around a week ago, I was driving down the highway only to hear loud abrupt "construction" noises. After observing why the sound was persistent when I was driving nearly 70mph, I stopped the car near a gas station and noticed that the rear left + right side were popped.

But the problems went away once I restarted my stereo, however it's disturbing to know that it could reoccur.

That's actually normal. I usually pause the key at the "ON" position for a couple seconds for the fuel pump to kick in so that the starter wouldn't have to grind too long.

Under the back license plate lip there is an outside button to open your trunk. RTFM.

I would have never guessed that in a million years, but it makes sense.
