My car got broken into...
Yup. It was parked in Colonial Parking at The shops at Gtown. I was at work so it happened from 9:30-5. The right passenger window was smashed. Nothing was in visible sight. I had a suction mount for my gps on the front window though but the GPS was in my compartment. They took that. I never keep anything in visible sight. That was the only thing I had in my car and it was hidden. There are scrapes and scratches on the chrome trim, moulding, and leather seats from where the window dropped. My window was tinted so it all held together nicely but there was still tons of glass everywhere. I'm highly pissed and ticked.

Dude, that sucks. I HATE chicken shit thiefs!! I would like to catch one. They would walk with a severe limp the rest of their pathetic life!! (if they were lucky enough to have a "rest of their life")
Sorry to hear this man,
Ken

That's happened to me before in a previous car. You will be finding glass shards in your car for years to come. I'm sorry to hear that it happened to a TSX, it's unfortunate to happen to a beautiful car! Mine certainly deserved it... it was an 89 Chevy S10 Blazer

man that sucks, sorry to here that. this kinda stuff always happens around DC, you just gotta be more careful. I remember when I was a kid, some fucker broke into our family van bc they saw empty computer boxes we used for moving...yeah they took nothing, but broke our window
I think the suction mount was the dead giveaway. They are like the detachable faceplates for the headunits. Although it looks like you took it, they know that 90% of people actually leave it in the glove compartment or middle console.

My mom is paranoid, she always locks the trunk release on all her cars, and same goes for the glovebox.
I've always thought she was paranoid, until the inevitable happened to me.
99% of the time I put my faceplate in my glovebox and lock it. The one time I didn't - the same day when I had speakers and my 250 pc. Craftsman tool chest in my trunk - a thief came by and snatched them up. Luckily they ignored my backpack which had my 5-month old laptop in there.
Just let it be a lesson to you. There's nothing you can do now. Of course you want to bash the thief's skull in but that's not gonna happen, ever, unless you catch them in the process. And even then its not the best idea.
Be glad that you still have your car at least. Who knows, they could have put it on a flatbed and hauled it away. From now on, lock the glovebox and take your GPS inside your house at night. Remove the suction cup too, you don't use it all the time and its not that big of a hassle. Less of a hassle than replacing a broken window.

Argh!!! >:(
Dude, I feel for you. WHile my TSX has never been broken into, my parents car was recently broken into when we were all on a family trip up in NYC.
very similar situation: my GPS mount was ALSO up on the windshield and we also had zero valuables in the car. My girlfriend actually took the GPS unit out of the car. So they didn't actually get that.
It happened in Flushing, NY, but I also live in the Washington DC Metro area.

sorry to hear that.
this happened to my wife's cousin and she had some chevy impala from her work. it was broken into during broad daylight literally 50 feet from where she lives, front passenger window smashed, they stole her GPS unit. i guess they must've seen her in the past an known she has one.
i try not to leave anything visible in my car, ever, no matter how nice the neighborhood is. there are just too many a-holes in this world.

Man, that sucks. F-ing low life messing with a productive citizen. Sorry it happened to you. So the lesson is not only take the GPS unit with you, but also take the mount off too.

This is one of the many reasons I have never really driven in DC.
Even when I owned my 2000 Accord LX sedan and after living in NoVa for 5 years I have yet to drive more than one mile in DC. The only times I have drove into DC are when missing the last exits into VA around Pentagon; so as soon as I touchdown into DC city lines I make a beeline for the nearest 95 sign to get the hell out of Murder Capital.
Sorry to hear about your car. Next time do what I do, park your TSX in a VA garage (mine safely waits for me in Old Town) and metro into DC.
