I'm not sure what's better tho', the RL's or Skyline's system...

BTW, speaking of the RL, have you seen the Legend Max?!?!?!
500hp V8 that revs to 10,000rpm
They took out the AWD tho...
The RL's system, by far.

The ATESSA-ETS system does not actively apportion the power left and right at the rear wheels like the SH-AWD system does.

Appeals to too small of an audience.

Of all the things that need improvement on the TSX the tranny (especially the 6MT) is the last thing they need to change

smg/dsg is typically a replacment for automatics. IE the new a3 comes in 6mt or dsg. It's time for the old style, inefficient ATs to be phased out.

Personally, I'd accept a CVT with sport shift mode just like the test one they had on a Jazz a while back.

7 "speeds" with paddle shifters...

Only someone who's currently driving a 5AT TSX would see a CVT as suitable replacement!

What's wrong with a CVT, numbnuts?

The ease of use of an AT with the efficiency of an MT. Plus, it can be programmed with 7 distinct gear ratios for a sport shift mode. Sounds good to me.

Especially with a turbo motor...

I'm still getting MT on my next car though.

Sorry to say dude, but you're in the wrong.

Of all the available trannies, the CVT is the transmition that will allow you to get the most out of your engine at all times.

If F1 cars had CVTs, they would gain 3/4 of a second on average with every corner they'd pass.

Agreed, but has anyone done a "good" production CVT on a 200+HP engine? The only one I've read about is on an Audi and its review was lackluster.

No doubt they'd make F1 cars faster, but just curious where did you come up with that number? Having a computer control all shifting (without driver input) also made F1 cars faster around the track, but where's the "sport" in that?
