Moth in my rear shelf (I'm insane!)
So I get home after a drive tonight and notice a big white moth on the rear seat. I try to "shoo" it out, but instead it just keeps flying around the inside (it must love my TSX, too!) ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I continue to "shoo" it, and eventually it flies to the back of the window (where the rear shelf meets the rear window) and literally goes into that crack/space (and I'm talking a very, very narrow space) along the window.
I tried using a piece of paper to "extract" it from the crack, but it just went deeper.![Mad](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)
Long story short, I opened the trunk to try to get to that area, but there's simply no way to get to the moth. ACK!!
Anyone know if moths smell as they decay?!![Frown](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Anyone else with a similar crazy/OCD story or does anyone have any ideas on how I can get "extract" moth "out of" my less than 1 week old TSX?!

My sister's 92 Prelude always attracted bees/wasps in the rear shelf/window crack area. She has 5 lodged in there...10 years later they are still intact, bodies all worn by the sun. Quite interesting if you ask me...

A vacuum is not an option - the moth is located in the "crack" between the rear shelf and the rear window. There ain't a vacuum nozzle/attachment that could fit in the crack.
I really wish there was some way to "extract" the moth (like some way of lifting/removing the rear shelf, but there really doesn't appear to be.

I also had lady bugs on the back of my old Corolla between the rear window and brake light, found out the brake light was detachable (user manual), and got rid of them. Don't know if this applies to other cars.

I also have a dead bee in the 3rd break light. I'll have to take it apart one day to get at it.

A vacuum will work... you just need to be a bit creative. Find the narrowest attachment and a big towel. Use the towel to plug the are up so that a vacuum can be formed. Get as close as possible and there should be enough of a vacuum to dislodge the bug.

My cars have all been bug collectors--inside and out. If you can't see it, then leave it. Too bad Acura doesn't offer an official bug collector's kit. ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
What gets my goat are those kamikazee bugs that hurl themselves upon the windscreen when you're travelling on the highway. Grasshoppers are the messiest.
