Mid Morning Rant - Trip to the Bank
I was driving to the bank just now, and I was so freakin' happy to deposit the hard earned overtime checks I'd worked my ass off for, and others can vouch how happy I am because I talked to them at work like CCC, TSX.Fury, and Jenn =]
So after I deposited my checks, I walked outside, and there was a minivan backing up into a space behind my car, and while im walking to my car and I see him backing up more, I say, oh hell no, and then BAM. Big ass smack right into the rear of my car. Unlike my other family member's who usually go apeshit when stuff like this happens, I asked him why he didnt pay attention (He was talking to his wife instead of looking in the rearview mirror), he clearly wasn't paying attention. He was hispanic, and tried reasoning with me, but when I went to the back of my car, there was no damage.
It's quite amazing how much damage the rear bumper can take, this is like the 3rd time someone's backed into my car, and it's starting to piss the hell out of me. I'm glad my car's not damaged, but there are seriously people who shouldn't be driving on the roads.

Sorry to hear about the heart-stopping moment but happy to hear that there was no damage!

That plastic can take an impact... that's one things its good for. Remember when I posted after my accident, days later some kid (16!) backs up AT A RED LIGHT cause he thought he was too far into the intersection (he wasn't) and rams right into my front bumper. Try to picture it from my viewpoint (what is he doing?? is he really... NO NO NO! NOOO!!! <BAM>)
I nearly lost it, but after inspecting the situation he had a big clear coat mark and I had... nothing. I couldn't even tell where the impact had happened. I let him go with a 'you're lucky i'm having a good day' speach.

Dang, sorry to hear man. Same thing happenned to me on vacation a couple of weeks ago. Someone back into the front of my car though. Left no marks, but later I saw a small crease. The TSX bumper also suprised me with its durability.

My old boss had gotten rearended 3 times over a period of just 2 years. He had a little red Miata. At first I though he had real bad luck, but one day when I went to lunch in his car, I realized what the problem was... He had the habit of waiting until the last minute and breaking real hard all the time. To the point that as a passenger I would find myself unconciously pressing on the carpet as if I had control over the break pedal.... I guess he liked the feeling of hard deceleration

It's weird, I park actually away from all the action, and this morning, I parked in the secluded area. He just happened to back up right into the spot behind mine. I guess he thought it would be easier if he just matched up his car with mine
Just my luck right?

There is nothing that irks me more than seeing a corolla or civic turn right (with no signal) like they are an 18 wheeler
