Metal Trim - How's it holding up?

Curious for anyone who's had the metal trim kit (the extra pieces) on whether or not you've noticed any peeling due to heat and whatnot.

I'm considering getting it but don't want it to end up like so much of GM's trim kits which just begin to warp and peel after being in the sun too much.

So.. experiences?

Mine are still good too. I think if it's a factory thing and not an add on, you should be ok.

It's a dealer installed option... my sales guy talked me out of it.. he said they are just stickers that they put over everything.. he thought it was cheeseball... once I heard they were stickers I agreed... I was under the impression that they actually replaced all the plastic plates with metal or new metallic looking plastic ones....

From the pics I saw, it's too bling bling.

I think it's too much as well, but I may decide to apply it selectively, like on the door arm-rests, and only the two covers in the center console. If you apply it all I think the center console is too flashy, needs to be broken up a little.

I think the "brushed metal" material in the TSX is a bit plastic looking compared to the brushed aluminum in my Accord, which looks really good.

Thanks for the feedback. Thinking of doing these, but was worried about it peeling up after a while in the sun.

I personally like the look. I dont care for the non-OEM set that much though, a bit too bright for my tastes.

I got my kit for < $200 on Ebay. I love it. I wouldn't be so happy if I'd paid $400 for it. As far as holding up, I've only had the car a month, so I'm not a good one to answer that. I see no reason why it won't hold up just as well as the default metal trim pieces though.

Was that offered as a BIN auction? Does the seller have more kits for that price? Which seller, because that is a pretty good price Does the metal look of the kit EXACTLY match the standard trim in the car?

4 months and out in the southern California sun (sometimes). The metal trim is holding up great. At first, I thought it might be "too much" too but yesterday, I took another one of my friends to a meeting and he also liked the look.

Thanks, this is the kind of information I was looking to see. I'm going to assume it's OEM?

I love the metal trim kit. Makes the car look more sporty. But I have to admit that it does reflect the sun off it and hits you in the face.

Almost 2 years with mine now and I've had no problems. I don't think it's too much and honestly think that it finishes off the interior rather nicely. Kind of like the OEM body kit finishes off the exterior.
