Make TSX Longer For Rear Passengers

You would think Honda would make the next TSX with better knee space for
rear passengers. And since they are not going to make the RSX anymore,
I can't wait for a more comfortable coupe like the TSX in maybe 07-08.
Something besides the Infiniti G35 coupe. I don't like Nissan, been there, done that..

The TSX has class leading rear leg room. If you want any bigger than the TSX you have to go the route of the TL

Agree...I sat in the rear in my TSX a few times (since I can't drive MT yet) and it's pretty spacious.

Longer wheelbase = poorer steering response?

Looks like the TL should satisfy your requirement for leg room in the rear.

They should make the TL shorter for those of us who might want one that rarely have passengers.

Compare it with the IS, and you'll notice that the TSX is way comfortabler. Well, to me anyways.

The best way to learn how to drive MT is to just drive it

When I bought my first manual car 5 years ago, it was a 2001 jetta 1.8T. basically just drove it off the lot, stalled two times @ the dealership, and had been driving stick ever since

No.

I think the author of this thread might be on to something. If you look at the other cars in this "class" they all have grown over the years.

Bmw 3 series - quite a bit bigger now than it was in the past. Wider too.
lexus IS - its bigger than the previous
G35 - bigger than the car it replaced.
Altima - huge difference now compaired to the previous model

and the list goes on.
So you cant say that you will have worse handling/ turning radius with a longer wheel base just because it isnt true. Personally im not fond of the TL but i wouldnt mind if the TSX got stretched a inch or so for more rear leg room.

BMW 3-series is still smaller than the TSX.
Lexus IS is barely bigger than the older one and is still one of the smallest in its class
G35 was competely redesigned and made to be a large-midsize car.
Altima competes with the larger US Accord, not the TSX.

Honestly, the TSX is plenty comfy. The TL is the TSX platform with your extra legroom. Don't like the TL? Tough luck...

I"ll be getting rid of my 2004 TSX here in the near future for a TL just for the fact that the TSX is just a little bit too small for my wife and I.

I wish Honda had made the TSX capable of towing 9,000 lbs so that I can tow my boat. I mean honestly, when I bought the car, I just assumed that it would be able to tow at least that, so I didn't bother to check before signing on the dotted line.

^^Some pickups can't tow that much. Why would you expect a sedan to?

You gotta be kidding me. If you bought a 2.4L I4 powered car expecting to be able to tow 9000 lbs, you must have been smoking some strong stuff....

I request this because I like the look and tech features of the TSX, and it's the vehicle I want to drive. Therefore, I want it to be able to do EVERYTHING that vehicles in other classes can do (pickups, full-size sedans, SUV's, etc.).

To help with towing that 9,000 lbs., I think the TSX should have a turbo-diesel V10 instead of the NA I4.

Me thinks you need some red text, or at the very least a . Otherwise, you're failing miserably at making a joke/being sarcastic, if in fact you ARE making a joke/being sarcastic.

It's not always necessary to say "Hey, watch out readers! The following sentences are meant to be sarcastic! Don't take them seriously!"

So I guess I will continue to leave it up to swirlie and the rest of the readers to figure out whether or not I'm serious. Maybe I am just some whack job posting absurd requests on a car forum...

Lol...

To get back to your subject, I thought about the same thing too, seriously though for a small sedan, it has decent room back there, and I've sat a 300+ dude who is 5.10' along with his slimmer bro, and a 6.2' dude in the front all at the same time.

I dont' think, even with the future, that you'll ever have a small sedan that has plently of leg room, no matter who the manufactor.

I've never actually been in the back seat of a TSX , so I can't comment on the rear legroom (I don't even own one, but I did get one as a loaner from my local Acura dealer when I took my car in for scheduled maintenance). Actually at 6'7" tall, most cars on the road today will have a small backseat to me, so my opinion will be skewed. However, I think there is some truth in the above quoted sentence. While it definitely is possible to make a large sedan handle well, it is generally easier to achieve excellent handling in a smaller sedan. Since one of Honda's main goals is offer what other car manufactuers offer at a better value, the company appears to have decided to use the compact sedan/(relatively) lightweight sedan route in their sports sedan offering rather than a larger/heavier car with an expensive suspension system to compensate.

If it was obvious enough for me to get it, I don't think it needed any red or rolleyes.
