Lousy mats...

Anyone else notice how quickly the floor mats are wearing!! I know this is what they are for but they just seem to be wearing thin under the pedals much faster than any other car I've owned. I take very good care of my car as I'm sure 90% of us on here do.
Cheers
Todd

Is the issue with the standard mats or with the all-weather mats?

I got the all-weather mats with mine and have been using them pretty much non-stop as it has basically been raining here since March. I do notice that the all-weather mats seem to show a lot of wear/scuffing.

The piece of floormat under the heel of your foot will always where very very quickly. If you want to avoid this, sow a piece of leather there or install a piece of something there that wears better than the carpet.

The All Weather Mats were excellent. I Love them. After 5600km no noticed wear at all.

the problem with the all weather matts is they suck in snow. The channels aren't deep enough to hold the water that comes off our shoes.

I don't have all weather mats. But I also don't deal with snow. However my mats are fine. They look almost new.

Mats

Mine are just the standard mats I pressume. Color matching the carpet withTSX on them. I know they are going to wear under the pedals more, I'm just stating that these are wearing under the pedals much much faster than any other car I have owned!

I totally agree with this! I only have 8500 on my car and I see it pretty bad. I have the standard mats and I actually noticed within my first week of having that car the mats seemed to be made of a material that was not as sturdy as that of other Hondas i have owned. And my white TSX on the mat is always getting dirty

On most previous models the mats were an option, IIRC something on the order of $80 to $90. Maybe because these were included in the price of the car they are nowhere near the quality of my previous CL mats. But they fit well, stay put, and keep the weight down so it's not all bad. I wonder if the euro mats are still an option and therefore more substantial?

After reading this post I took a closer look at my all-weathers yesterday... the scuffing I had noticed was basically just superficial marking. Some of it was dirt and/or rubber from my shoes and the remaining were just light scuffs that basically went away when the mat was cleaned.

So, my bad! The all-weathers are pretty durable after all.

Heh, yeah for 130.00 bucks these mats better last a long time. I love the all weather floor mats and as for the snow here in Alaska, just kick your foot before you step into the car. Never had a problem when doing that.

I have to say, the standard mats are more prone to wear than the ones in my Camry were. I'd guess that my TSX mats at 20,000 miles will be as worn under the pedals as my Camry mats were at 100,000. Could it be all that extra shifting

I've always been in SoCal, so rain/mud hasn't been a factor.

Still, I really like the way my TSX mats fit, and how the driver's side mat has hooks to keep it in place. If this is one of the ways Acura kept the TSX price down, then that's cool with me. I simply plan to replace the driver's side mat when it gets too worn.

I've had my tsx for a year now and I used the carpet mats for 9 months of that time and about 20k miles. I do notice that area under the pedals is wearing. I am probably going to replace the mat(s) in the near future. I used the acura all weather mats for 3 months and about 5k miles and while the scuff easily they seemed to hold up very well during all the snow we got this year.

I just got the ExtactMats, u know the durable clear mats that fits extactly on the stock mats. They do pretty well, keeps the stock mats factory new and clean. $79 for a set of 4 ExtactMats, good price.

Just checked, and the LF mat lists for $84.47, the RF mat for $98.55, and the rear mats for $70.38, each.....but (whew!) I see it's $125 for the complete set.

Since the rubber mats list for $129, an option might be to replace but keep the worn set for winter use rather than buy the rubber mats.
