looking for 07 or 08 TSX

A friend of mine is looking for either 07 or 08 TSX, full option (with nav)

He has a few choices already, looking at about $18-$19K.

That seems reasonable, right?

Also, what are the differences between 07 and 08?

Will depend a little on location. Prices vary by region. My guess is he'll need to spend more than that for a nice 07 or 08, especially with NAV, but....

I second Simba. Prices definately vary by region, but your friend will probably end up spending a little more than that if he wants something with relatively low miles (i.e. under 40k) and nav. I recently bought an '07 TSX with 38k and nav, and I paid around $21,500 (before tax and title) which is still lower than blue book. Also, mine was a CPO so that's also something to consider.

As for your second question, to the best of my knowledge there's not really any difference between 07 and 08. I know the 06-08 TSX has a slightly different engine from the 04 and 05, but there aren't any real differences between an 07 and 08.

If your friend is into modding tell him to consider an 06 as the 07-08 TSX does not have the Hondata reflash option and there don't appear to be any plans for it. The cost of the reflash is down to around $300 and seems to be one of the most popular mods on here. Hope this helps.

yeah thanks. We went around on the weekend and found it to be a little higher than thought previously.

Found a 2007 with Navi 36K miles for $21K out the door, but color is light blue.

21K sounds like the correct value worth for the car. I heard that light blue is one of the favorite colors around and is rare. I hardly see any light blue TSX.

From my recent shopping experience (i looked for 4 months till I finally found what I wanted), i noticed the light blue, the glacier blue metallic, to be a couple thousand cheaper than any other colors. at least out in cali, that color must not be in very high demand because i would see a lot of that color when i went shopping. heck, i saw an 07 w/nav at 40K miles for only $18k and was strongly tempted to buy that at that great deal, CPO, but waited a month till I finally found my car in black.

Yeah, I would wait also to get the perfect color. I assume the $18K you were talking about is in light blue.

It is a nice color, but a little girly. That's all.

I agree on the color sentiment, but then..... there's another active thread that seems to imply that we're driving a girly car anyway, so maybe it fits better than we think. I will also agree that the color is rare (here around Mass. anyway). It may be regional, but I practically never see it (and I travel between Mass and Conn allot and TSX's are very popular in the area). I'd say that the green is the only color I'm less likely to see (and which I've decided I really like and is the only color I might move to from my beloved silver).

I bought my 2006 NAV Grey manual 38,000 miles from the dealership for $18,700 a couple months ago. It took a lot of arm twisting to get that price, and my initial offer was $19k.

Private party there should be no problem picking up an 07-08 for that price, depending on location and mileage. I always prefer to go private party, but the 6-speeds are so darn hard to find. East coast should be no problems though.

I'd say you pretty much added a second to my point. Plus.... my guess is that your dealer may have been happy to see that MT go; there's a reason they've been pretty consistent at 5% of sales. We should remember that we exist in somewhat of a bubble here. This site represents a minute sliver of the motoring public that drives TSX's and things that seem common and popular here are either unknown or generate little interest in the other 99% that a car like the one that we do. I'm going to stick with my opinion that a decent 07 will be hard to find for less than $20K+, especially with NAV (not even going to speak to an 08). I guess $18,7 was a good price. Was that certified? How much left on the warranty? (06+4 years..... the math has me wondering).
