I read the stickies and didnt see it so im asking here. Im looking at buying a tsx. It looks like it came off the showroom floor, mint condition. Its an 05 and has 145k miles on it so im assuming highway. Im gonna try to talk them down to $8k for it. My question is, what is the life of a tsx or acura engines in general? If I take care of it, is it too much to expect to get to 300k miles out of it? Im gonna get the carfax and try to get autocheck on it this weekend. I test drove it and the engine sounds new. Its an auto transmission and shifted very smooth, also. Thanks guys.

 

It's your typical Honda engine that will last well over 300k miles if well taken care of.

 

I have an 04 TSX with 145,000 miles. The engine performs as good now as when it was new. As long as you do routine oil changes and maintenance, it should keep going strong for a long time.

 

Is this a private sale or from a dealer. Carfax's are not always accurate. Even tho I have all the service done by a acura dealer-none of it showed up on the carfax. When I asked the owner of the dealership why-he told me they do not share info with them. Make sure you have the car checked out. If properly maintained it should give you many more miles. Thanx for your replies. Its from a local honda dealership. They are asking $10k but I might try to talk em down. Make an offer and hope no one buys it soon so they come down a little on the price. I just totalled my civic() so I know they last a while(she had 135k miles on her). If it gets bought Ill look for something a little cheaper.
