LED City Lights - Want to do

Has anyone noticed on many IS250/350, they have LED bulbs, the same ones we get from autoilluminations, in their headlights? My buddy has one and changed his and they look sick. Who wants to take on that project of a DIY?? On the IS forums, I noticed they call it "Parking City Lights." They may have the same function as DRL's. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm having a hard time finding pictures -___-. Here's what I found.

The Link (Mod's please fix if I can't do this) to an IS Forum with DIY for the LED City Lights. Their headlights come with it, but we'd have to probably do some drilling. honestly, I think it looks nicer in person.

These pictures came from ClubLexus members to give them credit. i think the last picture shows it the best.

Link to Joe Z's thread. (Again Mod, please remove if i can't do this, thanks)

Start by posting in the right section. Moved to general discussion.

Second, those H1 housings have pre-set holes for 192 bulbs. This is what makes it easy for them to do this. We don't have that, so unless you wanted to drill a hole in your headlight housing, add a mating connection for 192, splice some more wiring... its a non starter.

More power to you if you want to do this, but its a lil cheesy for me.

Yea, its just an idea. On the IS, it's a subtle, but really nice look to it. Like what I said in my first thread, it will probably need some drilling. If I were good at electrical stuff, I would, but I'm not. If I did know, I would splice it with the interior lighting, so it will go on when I turn on the headlights. I wasn't aware that the jdm had something similar. I'll have to do a search. Here it is in yellow

I agree. City lights are very 90s. Did red ones for my civic back in the day.

you can get rubberized sockets from napa already set up for those wedge bulbs. just drill a small hole, push it in and wire the 2 wires up to whatever you want (park lights, headlights, key switched) it's so easy it's hardly worth mentioning...

Man those are ill looking. The 06+ JDM headlights really do beg for a white bulb in the corners. I got sick of the look of the white bulb in my 04/05 JDMs since it just doesn't seem to look right. I went back to ambers.

But to that picture!

they are pretty sick with the white LEDs. i'm going to detail them soon though, there are a bunch of chips all over them which look like little speckles of dust. you can easily see them at night when the lights are on (you can even see them in that pic I posted). do you have that same problem?

I don't think the city lights are out of style yet. J's Racing has their S-Tai LED (DRL) type of lights. Blitz has a set called I-Burner (strobe lights, DRL, city lights).

I believe AJ Racing (vendor) has the J's Racing LED lights. For the Blitz I-Burner Spark, look up the Blitz website.
