lamest TSX review?
http://www.riceandtimes.com/v1issue0..._acuratsx.html
Below is a quick snapshot of the factors that are essential in buying this car.
"So Asian" factor - 9 out of 10
"Keeping up with the Wongs" factor - 8 out of 10
"DAMN!!!" factor - 7 out of 10
Bang for the buck - 8 out of 10
Overall rating - 8 out of 10
Buy or Bye? - I would have to say "Bye" to the TSX. Acura built a very nice car. Who can argue with the intuitive ergonomics? But for that price I would be comparing other makes and models.

For those too lazy:
I can honestly tell you I have no clue about Acura ever since they changed the names of their cars from Legend, Integra and Vigor to RSX, TL, and MDX. Can you tell me the difference between the models aside from the NSX? Yeah, me too! Damn corporate guys always think they are right.
Anyways, Acura came out with the new TSX model. This car is actually the European Honda Accord. The Acura nameplate only appears in the United States because Americans are snobby like that. Who in their right mind is willing to dish out $89,000 for a Honda NSX?
The overall shape of the TSX is nice until you get to the rear. The rear of the car looks like it is chopped off from certain angles - I wonder if it's just me. The car actually looks smaller than it really shows. Fit and finish is excellent but what else can you expect from Honda? The cabin inside is definitely a step up to luxury. I felt like I was in the cockpit of a jet. The ergonomics is exceptional. Everything is where it's supposed to be and within easy reach. Head and leg room is tight but I didn't feel cramped. All the gauges were easy to read and comprehend.
I drove a TSX with a manual transmission. Awesome! It's time to have some fun. The gearbox is almost if not identical to the Honda S2000. The throw was short but very notchy. I did not have full confidence in ripping through the gears in fear of missing a shift. Acceleration was smooth and downshifting was fun because you can hear the engine roar to life. I just wish it was a 6-cylinder for more torque through the bandwidth. Cornering and braking is what you expect of a Honda - technologically designed.
If you are looking to graduate from the Accord and move on up then the TSX is for you. The only drawback is Acura just released the redesigned TL. Prices range from $26,490 to $28,490 fully loaded with Navigation System.

Makes me kaugh every time.
"the 2004 Acura TSX is earmarked for first time luxury car shoppers. A 3.2-liter engine with i-VTEC powers the 2004 TSX and generates a respectable 200 horsepower."
and then
Quote:
"Inside the engine compartment of the Acura TSX resides a powerful yet obedient 3.4 liter 18 valve six cylinder engine which produces a respectable 200 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 166 LB-ft of torque at 4500 rpm.

actually, I just read the whole thing. the 123carlinks definately takes the cake. But a "Keeping up with the wongs" rating would be the icing on that cake

I like the tagline of the site - "the uniquely american experience"
Most of the review (except for the driving a manual transmission part) sounds like it can be written for someone like my mom, who knows next to nothing about cars and would actually make the comparisons to "Keeping up with the Wongs"

Alex needs a beatdown. That whole website is pretty stupid. Rice and times, and then they are probably the ones that get offended when someone makes a joke about asians and rice. So Asian factor? Keeping up with the wongs? What is up with that? I hate asians that have so much damn pride that they don't even have 1 friend of another race/color and take every asian joke so seriously. This asian right here is all about diversity! Latinos, caucasians, asians, I've dated them all!!

Asians - they have a fascination with Black and white, most of them are under 100 pounds, and you had better speak their parent's language or else they give you the "evil asian parent" eye every time you walk through that door
Latina - Oh that one girl I dated in high schoo, she was so banging...and the other one was so in college. Both of them didn't have the J Lo booty, but they did show me how to properly salsa and merengue in more than 1 way
Caucasians - been with a handful throughout my years, too diverse to just generalize. but I do have a weakness for an all america blonde hair blue eyed girl
Never dated a sista....props to you!

I agree domn..back to the Navi, can't live without it, won't live without it from here on in.
Example: Was lost somewhere in Pennsylvania, didn't know where the heck I was, not a soul in sight, told The navi to find near Fast Food Restaurant, and LO AND BEHOLD! I see the yellow Arches, get my bathroom run in, and a Big Mac to go...and was home in Jersey in another hour.

In any case, the pickings are rather slim over there. With the new TL made in left-hand drive for the North American market only, the only models available in Hong Kong are the RSX (auto only and no Type-S) and the current outgoing 3.5RL. Surprisingly, Hong Kong doesn't get the Euro/JDM Accord/TSX.

BTW, larger Hondas and Accords are not all that popular in Hong Kong (I saw far more Toyotas around).
