Keyless Remote Churp

I tried searching for my question, but after 2 evenings I didn't have any luck. So I thought I'd post.
When you press LOCK on the keyless remote to lock the doors, the doors lock and the parking lights flash. If you press the LOCK button again, the "churp / beep" sounds and parking lights flash. Is there anyway to have the churp sound the first time you press LOCK? To me it seems like the power door locks are being used twice so the motor will wear out quicker......

^^ I don't think there is a way to do that with the stock TSX, maybe some aftermarket module. The first LOCK locks the doors and the alarm will arm in 30 seconds. The second LOCK arms the alarm immediately. I usually just settle for the first LOCK only unless I want to announce to the neighborhood that my car has an alarm.

I thought that was the case. Even though I've had my TSX for a year and half, I thought that there might be a program thing with the key. Example, I had to get a rattle fixed in the drivers door panel and I guess by unplugging the memory seat it un-programs the remote key fob. So my salesman re-programmed it by holding buttons and turning the key to the on position. So I was hoping for a "behind the scenes" trick.
Thanks for the reply!!!

You might give the designers a bit more credit. As the dude suggests, . The second beep will NOT sound if a door or the trunk is ajar (and thus, the security system won't engage IIRC). I do as the mod says, I often just click once and find that very discreet and stealthy. Don't like those cars that Honk! when the driver is stepping away.

I wish it would beep when unlocking the doors.

I agree that I hate the loud honk, and prefer the electronic beep.
But, often the beep is hardly adequate - even with a little bit of noise, I can't hear it sometimes.

Subaru gets it right (in the Legacy, that I know of):

First press = doors lock, lights flash (mirrors too!!!).
Second press = lights flash, electronic beep.
Third press = lights flash, horn beep.

Or, better yet, if you lock the doors manually and then close the door, the car beeps and lights flash.
