Hi - searched for "key fob" & "door locking" and found something similar to what I am currently experiencing, but not exactly.

I've an 2004, 6-speed with just over 70K in about 3-1/2 years of driving. Yesterday, I found I was unable to completely lock/unlock the car with the key fob. I could unlock all but the driver's door, and intermitantly lock all but the driver's door. Now, I cannot lock anything, but can still unlock all but the driver's door with the key fob.

In order to lock the doors, I'm using the key in the driver's door. I changed batteries and even to my other key fob. This has not proven to be the solution.

In one post, one person was stating that the dealer had to "re-sync" the locking mechanism. Is this what needs to happen to my car?

Sounds like it might be the door lock actuator. Many of us have had the same issue.

Yup - this is it. Thanks for the link to the thread. <sigh> The car is out of warranty. I hope this does not cost too much. Thanks again!!

 

If you DIY it, it's about $20.00. Mine went out also and I ordered the actuator. Haven't had a chance to replace it yet. Local quotes from the two Acura dealers in my area are $260.00 and $180.00. Someone wrote up a DIY, so I think I'll try it myself.
