just bought hid conversion for fogs

Just picked this up http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._promot_widget

I hope this was a good idea, I'll let you guys know how long it takes to get them, the holiday may delay things, and will take pics of what they look like when they get here. I only have time to install things on the weekend, so I don't know when that will be. Wish me luck!!!!

i did the HID fogs almost a year ago on my 06 its rellatively easy as long as the H11 harness they give u fits ok. Helps out alot if you got yellow it really brightens things up in the rain.

Confusedjojo, I thought about going with the yellow, but ended up going with a white. 6000k. I think the first time it rains hard I'll kick myself though, lol.

Cool pic.

I dont know yet, but for the price I thought I'd give it a shot. I got an e-mail today from DHL saying they got a shipping order, so at least it looks like the seller got the ball rolling fast.

I can't wait to find out if this really is a good deal or whether it's too good to be true!

I bought mine off of ebay as well. Mine's based off a German company and supposedly pretty damn good for its worth for its money. 75+ shipping on ebay. I haven't installed it yet, no time.

I did a Google search of the eBay seller's username and it seems that there's a good number of people who've bought kits off them and are quite happy with the product. One guy did a HID conversion to his sport bike, a few did conversions on their C5 Corvettes, and there's some Hyundai Tiburon owners that have used the kit with success too.

This is sounding quite positive. I'm getting tired of burning my fog light film, and I'm sure these would look nice too.

Received it yesterday. So far looks to be of High Q. I had a question about the wiring, and we are trading e-mails. Seem to be a good person. You can tell by the wording in the instructions that whoever made these things is from China, without even seeing the MADE IN CHINA on the box, lol. The thing that bothers me the most is where I would think the power would come from, is on the wrong side of the grommet, and does not look like it would "plug in" to the factory harness. I can fix that, but still makes me wonder.

Here is a pic. Notice the Red+ and the black-. I would think there would be a harness. We will see what is e-mailed back to me. He did say that I could pull the red and black wires back through the gromett with no problems.

OH and this is not all that came, the rest of the stuff , ballast brackets and such look good.

I'm sure it would be a great help if you did a DIY. I am looking to do this mod if the price is right and if the install is relatively easy. Otherwise I will just stick with my hoens.

ok its really simple a just take the red and attach to the red one that you have on ur car and a black to the black. seriously you could do it with butt connectors. cost you about 1.00 at your local hardware store. its basically the same butt connectors you use to install speakers.

Yup, I think I got it now. Thanks to help from Jay on the other site, this looks simple. I think I was making it harder than it is. The black and red wires on the "wrong" side of the gromett was throwing me. If I can use my cousin's garage Saturday its a go. Shouldn't be a problem, I just gotta bring the beer. Oh, I guess I should ask him too, huh?

Gotta go make a phone call, lol
Wish me luck!!

Dude, that looks great!! I hope mine look half that good. I won't find out till next Saturday though, couldn't get a garage this weekend.

So how is the light output with both headlights AND fogs in HID? I'll bet the back roads feel a little safer at night.

Thanks for the pics jojo!!

fitment is perfect cause i had it customized, i cut the holes on the bumper alot bigger, and then fiberglassed the lights into place. The lights arent gonna go anywhere

Well, I know bulbs last longer than 3000 hours... and I was under the impression that HIDs lasted longer.

On and working. Looks great, but no pics during install. I cheated and took it to an installer I know. His installer was about 3 hours late, so the owner and I did it ourselves. So I DID kindda of DIY with the help of a pro, lol. I've known him for years, and he has given me alot of advise over the years going back to 1993 when I put a sound system in the 'ol Shadow.

Only problem with the install was the lamps themselves. We had to take a die grinder and shave off just a bit of material on the 3 fingers, for lack of a better term, inorder for them to lock into the housing. Good thing I was at the shop, or I'd had been SOL, I COULD have used a Dremel, but the die grinder was much easier to use.

Pics to come later tonight, and as you know, I'm lazy, so I'm just going to copy/past this to the other form.

Sorry about the pics, forgot.

Heres one on the dash..does not look so green in person....

One with just the head lights....

Outside the car in daylight...

Standing beside car.... notice how white they are in this pic, compared to the one with the camera on the dash....

Over all not bad, I think once they "burn in" they will match the headlights better, more blue than I had hoped. Also I was hoping for more of a driving light beam. But I get what I get, it IS a fog light.

Ken.

Yes they do. I think its just the K output you order. Mine are 6000k, and I think, I could be wrong, that if you go any HIGHER you will get bluer on up to purple. If you go LOWER than 6000k, you start going into the yellow range.

How are these any different than the Hoen H11 bulbs I just bought and popped in my 06? They both seem to give the "white light effect"

These are the HID conversion kit. Not just a replacement bulb. I don't know it they are better or not, but for the price I thought I'd give it a shot. I just hope it doesn't bite me in the 'ars latter on down the road. Anyway, it was fun working on the car in a shop that had insurance if anything happened , lol.

hey guys, I have a general question, would it be possible to run the hid foglights during the day, in replacment of the DRL lights, kind of like the 07 MDX, where nothing is running on the headlight, just the foglights are visable.
