Jersey Buying Help Please

Test drove a 2005 Acura TSX automatic trans with the navigation yesterday was very impressed. And am looking to the buy that model with those options.

I am looking to buy end of March. 2 months from now. Trading in a 1996 Honda Accord EX coupe. 102,000 miles

I am in the Ocean county area of NJ...Not too many Acura dealerships down here.
Looking for info on where to buy....preferably a volume dealership.

What are the prices everyone is paying ? Is there a website where this info is posted ?

How do I handle a situation where the car I am seeking is not in the current inventory ??.....And they have to get it from another....I am considering Satin Silver, Carbon Gray, and Meteor Silver, all with the Quartz interior....

How do I handle options ? I want the floor mats, trunk mat, cargo net, and the Metal look trim kit. Do I buy separate from a wholesaler or dealer install ?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I am in Monmouth County. Ocean Acura is not a place I would recommend although I did buy there. I had to walk out of the dealership once as the changed their price when we were finalizing the deal. Its an average dealership at best whose service area is adequated at best. You may want to try farther south and/or Precision in Princeton.

I think an average price for non-navi is about 25.5-26K. It may have changed over the past couple months but I am sure people will correct me here if its changed. Not sure if there is a difference for auto or stick.

If you have any other questions on dealers I will be more than happy to help you out. I have posted several times with my experiences last March and April. Good luck!

I wouldnt recommend and not sure anyone here would. 4 Years is fine for me and I see no value in getting an extension, especially if its not Acura backed. Not sure if Honda actually has an extension available but that can be found out pretty easily with a search.....

I got mine from Montclair Acura but I got a GREAT QUOTE from Acura of Turnersville from their web site. Nice guy ... In fact, I used his quote to get my deal at Montclair.

I pay 365 per mont w/ nav

I haven't heard one good thing about Ocean Acura...although the salesman was nice when I test drove it...didn't even try to sell me the car..

Do any of you mind telling what you paid and how you negotiated to that figure ? Did you buy any extras ?

I am looking for the Auto with Navi TSX 2005

Anybody know how to search the inventories ? Seems the Acura website keep that info top secret...

Thanks !

try going to the actual dealer's website. not just acura's official site. most dealerships will have a list of inventory on their site. dunno how updated they are though.

i dunno if it helps, but i got a 2005 carbon grey/ebony, auto, nav about 4 weeks ago for $27,900. no extras though. but it was a nice deal at the time since they first wanted sticker price.

Well, I'm not in that area but what I did was just keep getting quotes from dealerships and going back to the ones I went to, to see if they would match or beat. Definitely work in some freebies with the deal. Definitely get wheel locks for free and maybe all season mats. You can also get discounts on other stuff. Good Luck and keep us updated!

Go to www.acura.com and click on the button for Dealer Quotes. They'll ask you for your zipcode and locate nearby dealerships. Once you give your information, the dealerships will be contacted telling them that you want a quote. Then the Internet Sales Manager will contact you via email or phone. I liked to deal with the Internet Sales Manager via email because that way he can't pressure you in any way. Just ask him for a quote on the TSX you want (no need to specify color, just the options, ie. Nav, manual, etc...) and he'll email you what their FIRST offer is. Do not be happy with their first quote. Take that quote and compare with other quotes that dealerships give you and then that's when the battle for your business begins between the dealerships. Keep on going back and forth between dealerships until one quote will not be surpassed by the other dealerships. If you prefer a specific dealership to others, then at least ask them to match what the other dealership is quoting you. That's what I did and it worked. Try to go at the end of the month. I went on January 31st, one hour before closing. I got $27,525 (before taxes, reg fees, etc...) plus All season mats and wheel locks for a 2005 NHB TSX Auto with Navigation

btw. keep in mind that some people on here who purchased brand new 2004s may have a lower quote because the 2005's invoice went up a few hundred dollars. I think it was $300 over the 2004 invoice. Good Luck!

Its worth a try, but that method would only work (I think) if you actually went to the dealership and had a check in hand to purchase on the spot. They don't want to deal with anyone who wasn't serious about purchasing a car that day. So if you're going that route, I suggest just going right to the dealership, requesting a salesman and tell them that you're ready to buy today if they're willing to meet your price.

I'm not an expert on this since I just purchased my first new car, but I did alot of research and reading a bunch of Buyer Guides. And after my first car purchasing experience I definitely understand now that they're willing to budge for you if you're serious about purchasing and you've done your research. I think I was just as knowledgable about the TSX as my salesman. So there was nothing really he could pull on me.

bought in NJ

I bought 2 weeks ago (in the blizzard) in Nj at east brunswick acura (ryans open road). I bought a 2005 w/o Navi for 25k. I also got $2500 for my 99 honda... originally they said $25,500 plus tax and doc fee ($150) but after seeing my honda they said 25k and 2500 for the trade in. I had called around to most of the Nj dealers and no one would come close... also note my accord had 92k on it and was not in good shape. the tsx came with the security kit and i purcahsed the 6yr/100k extended warr. for $950. They had meteor or red in stock, i took the meteor and could not be more happy. I would suggest giving these guys a try, the manager I dealt with was named Brian. hope this helps....

I also have a 1999 Accord with 92.3k miles and was offered $5,500. I refused the offer. The Accord is in near perfect shape, an EX with leather. I'm not letting the dealer make $5,000 off my trade-in, so I'm selling the Honda myself. $2,500 for a 1999 Accord with 92k miles (if it runs) is a horrible deal.

kbb onn accord

the good news is that the price of my tsx was negotiated before the trade in, so either way it was 25k. While my trade in did run, it needed, a new front seat (was like a rocking chair, catalytic converter& some other valve (check eng light was on) front brakes, struts, alginmet, timing belt, trans work... it would have been a few thousand to fix...I would not have been able to sell it for much more then I got, and since I owned it, i just wanted to dump it as my wife had given the ok to "go buy a car if you want".

Wow, how does an Accord get to that point? At 92k miles? I hope you take better care of the TSX!
