JDM auto leveling.. (has anyone hooked it up?)
i have the motors installed.. and i believe you just add a positive for X amount of seconds to turn the knob... i think it would be pretty nifty if you could have it so when you lock the car. the lights will aim down. then when you unlock it they aim back up... this way you wouldn't use all the extra hardware.. but i guess its a matter of finding where i can get my power source from..

I wouldn't want my JDM lights to auto level.
Yes, they have the feature built in, but I wouldn't hook it up.
I have it adjusted different, for ride height and for the wrong beam pattern.
If I hooked it up to auto, it would go back to JDM specs each time,
which for me is bad.

hm ya if you add that deal that goes with the suspension...
however i know there has to be a way to have a set timer + a current
which would easily have the headlights go back to the same position every time...
very similar to KP Tech modules that are out.. at least i think an extremely similar theory..
the window up module has a timer so that the windows go up all the way. just like the sunroof will open up all the way + tilt up etc...
i just need to do a lil more research or it would be super grand if i could get some input from someone that has more knowledge regarding resistors and such???

the motors on the euro headlights are not for auto-leveling. it's so you can adjust the heaight of the headlight beam manually, Cars in europe all have this feature.
you can buy the whole harness and wire it in. there's a rotary knob you mount in the car and when you turn it, the beam goes up and down.
i had a similar kit for my bmw for euro headlights

hmm are you sure? i think i read somewhere that they were auto.. because they had some sensors that were in the front near the suspension. i'll have to dig to find where it was

that might be something completely different
but i know in europe its madated by law that cars have this
i dont believe this is true in japan though, that's why some jdm lights have them and some don't
some come from japan and some from brittain
i could be wrong but this is from my experience with lighting
with my bmw

i bought 2 jdm sets from forum members
one had motors, the other didn't so they must come from different countries
(i had this system for my bmw, the switch says 0, 1, 2, 3, it came with 2 servo motors much like the honda ones, a switch, and a harness) basically as you click through the 3's on the switch, it either pushes or pulls the servo motor in or out which moves the inner headlight assembly forward and back
here is a passage from wikipedia
Beginning in the 1970s, Germany and some other European countries began requiring remote-control headlamp levelling systems that permit the driver to lower the lamps' aim by means of a dashboard control lever or knob if the rear of the vehicle is weighted down with passengers or cargo, which would tend to raise the lamps' aim angle and create glare. Such systems typically use stepper motors at the headlamp and a rotary switch on the dash marked "0", "1", "2", "3" for different beam heights, "0" being the "normal" (and highest) position for when the car is lightly loaded. Internationalized ECE Regulation 48, in force in most of the world outside North America, currently requires such systems on all vehicles.

i like the concept. and it seems pretty damn cool. to be able to adjust from inside the car.. lol. instead of what i do now: go park 25 feet away from a wall. somewhere dark. then have to go out with pliers. adjust each headlight til they look even. close the hood. go back in the car. and see it lined up... (hopefully) sucks when its not aligned...
