Interior Question

I just purchased an 07 black/parchment non-nav TSX. I bought it from a dealer in another city, better deal, and as I was driving it home I noticed something odd. There is some sort of felt tape on the left side of the joining of the stereo and trim. Is this normal? Can I just take it off? I guess I wanted to know if this is common because it's kinda bugging me. Thanks for the help and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Hmm...I believe that's a padding they use between the headunit and the console. I have a little bit poking out in my car, but it's barely noticeable unless you're looking for it.

Yeah, I figured as much. Do you think that there would be any problem just trimming it off? I can't imagine there would be, but I'm afraid of making it look worse than it already does.
