integra-type r

Hey all... I've been thinking lately... my dad is gonna get me a car (tsx) in about two months and i'm thinkin of a manual.. but since i have never driven a manual I would be really afraid to drive the tsx. My brother has a 2001 integra type-r and he is willing to take the tsx (so i dont destroy the clutch and what not) and i take the integra type-r. Think this is a good idea? sorry if i sound like a spoiled kid... or just get a auto tsx?

Uh...how's about you learn to drive a stick in the next two months and then you won't have to worry about destroying the clutch. Two months is a lot of time and I'm sure that you'd be able to learn it easily enough.

Take the R out a few times about a week or so before you get the TSX. This way you will be able to drive your car when it comes in.

You'll learn manual in two hours... at least you won't stall the engine.
TSX is the easiest manual I ever driven.

Second nature, you don't even think about it after awhile.
Take the Type-R. Sounds a bit weird for you to practice on the ITR as well.

Buy yourself an old Chevette at 50$ and go out in the pits to learn with it, and give yourself a whole lot of fun while you're in there.

since your dad is buying a car for you it sounds like you're probably still in school. I wouldn't want a R at a school because it WILL get messed with. It sucks but it will happen

the TSX is really easy to learn how to drive. the clutch does catch very hard nor quick and is gradual fro mbottomw to top. this at least is what I noticed when I test drove. you'll be fine. you'll earn within a week.

enjoy the new car!

Granted I've never driven an Integra before (and don't even know how to drive stick), but it confuses me that you would think about willingly giving up a brand new car in favor of one that's 3 years old. I'd learn stick on the Integra and take the TSX. Or, failing that, just get the auto TSX. Don't let your brother con you out of your new car!

If you like to race get the R. Is you want a normal car get a TSX. I do not like my TSX. I am glad I still have a R.

I recommand the TSX also. My friend HAD a R. it is a nice fun car to drive. still suspensions, nice engine, LSD. but very rough ride, its very loud like at idel and stuff (kind of annoying), it is harder to drive, clutch very hard, TSX much more comfy. He got it stolen rew weeks ago. not the first time happening. its an easy targer, integras being very to break into. i recommand you get the TSX.

yeah im fearing the safety of the car. It is a loud car, and i don't mind the loud noise when it is idle but i just cant decide if i want racing or comfort. I'm just thinking I'm going to get sick of the car. And the seats in the R i find realllly comfortable, the passanger and pilot seat mmm.

A thing i promise you is that you wont get tired of it, the driving part. and the noise is a annoying loud, at first it was alright, but after a while it got annoying, since they removed 25% of noise reducing things from the engine to keep the car light. but either way, you cant go wrong with any of the two.

Najeroni: How are the kids at your high school? Do you think they'd get jealous and start screwing with your ride? If you think it might happen, I think that either the Type-R or the TSX will both get messed with.

Still, either car will impress your friends (and the ladies). But I think you will have to put up with all the crap people will do to them. (Unless your school's parking lot is filled with Bimmers and Benzes.)

Just don't kill yourself going nuts in the ITR!!! :P

lol yeah i would try controlling myself in the ITR. Yeah, my friends are impressed with it as they have seen my brother drive some of them in it or they have seen it, its funny to see them go "oh man look at how low it goes!! and look its even got an exhaust!" My school isn't that bad, i mean we have the occasional keying, but nuttin big. Its just the fact that the car is a prime target for thieves. mmmm but anyways, arctic blue is lookin mighty fine, but so is carbon gray .
