Installation Costs?

I recently requested a quote from an Acura dealer in California over the internet. I asked the salesman how much it would cost, including installation, to get fog lights, front, side, and rear under body spoilers. He said it was $712 for the fog lights, and $1600 for the spoilers. How are these prices? Would it be cheaper to buy the parts from Hondacuraworld.com and have someone install the parts for me?

Thanks.

For the OEM body kit, just buy it off hondacuraworld and install it yourself. You can download the instructions from the site. It took about 3 1/2 hours but if you follow the directions it is pretty easy. You would save close to $700 by doing it yourself.

I can't speak to the foglights as I don't have them.

Fog lights: $479 installed
Underbody kit: $1304 installed

*These prices are directly off of our cost sheets for these parts with installation included at the factory specs for hours due for labor. Don't give a dealer hell for trying to make a little gross though, that is their job. Allow them a couple bucks over this.

I bought the Kit from hondacuraworld and did the install myself too. You will save quite a bit doing that yourself. It takes 3-4 hours if you take your time.

I bought the OEM fogs from a board member here for right at $225. I did that install myself as well. The install was a little involved but nothing that you cannot do if you can follow some instructions and have a few common tools.

The numbers posted on the thread started are very close to what the dealer quoted me as well.

I got my fogs for $268 from autocarparts.com and my OEM underbody kit for $915 from hond.acura.world.com Don't put in the dots in there as that site is blocked on this forum. The fogs are about a 3 hour job. I will be doing the kit this weekend. Looks to be about a 3 hr job. Most dealers charge anywhere from $60-$75/hr for labor. I have always liked putting stuff together and working on my own cars and motorcycle within reason. You will need basic tools to complete both jobs. I think the dealer is charging you too much both for parts and labor.
