inconsistent "ding dong" sound

The "ding dong" sound, when opening the driver door for the first time, is sometimes on and sometimes off. Is there a switch for this?

I noticed the same thing.
It's sort of like the riminder that I left my keys in except I'm just opening the car.
And it's not really a full "ding dong" sound, only about half of it.

This has been addressed here before. It is sort of a bug. If you open the door too soon after you press the unlock button it chimes. Try it, you will see.

It's the "headlights are on" warning. When you press the unlock button on the remote, the lights flash, and if you open the door while they are flashing you will hear the chime.

Correct, I knew I was forgetting some detail.

That's not what's happening to me. I usually unlock the car from about 10 feet away.
By the time I open the door the flash is long over.
I also notice this in the morning when I open the door after my car has been sitting unlocked all night in the garage.

Hmm...thats impossible. As was mentioned (and in a few other posts if you want to search) its kind of a bug. The lights-on chimie comes on when you unlock your doors because the headlights blink.

I also unlock the door from distance. By the time I opened the door, I hear a complete "ding dong" song or completely no sound. It doesn't make sense to me. If the chime sound goes off simontaneously with headlight flashing, Why I've never heard half "ding" or "dong".

Not a serious problem if it's a bug. But I kinda enjoy that "ding dong" chime. It gives me a "hey, sweetie, you're back" kinda feeling.
