Impressed?

So I took my 04 6MT TSX to get the water pump replaced and I got an 06 AT TSX for a loaner and I wasn’t that impressed don’t get me wrong the new features like Bluetooth, nav, memory seats come in handy but the gauges seem a bit over done for me I didn't like the blue accent and info display seemed a bit cheap. I like the Acura badge on my 04's steering wheel better than the 06s and the 04 bumper and wheels in my opinion look better than in the 06. I am a bit simplistic that might be it, but I was thinking about upgrading to an 07 or 08 TSX in the near feature. Im not to sure now I might hold out until the new TSX arrives.

My father had an '07 TSX a few weeks ago when his TL was in for service. I took it for a spin to compare it to my '04 and I didn't think the power difference was noticeable. I felt that my TSX' suspension was still just as tight with 45,000 miles on it as the new '07 was with only 5000 miles on it. I did like some of the new creature features but I would not trade my '04 up for an '07. It just makes me feel good to think about how well my '04 has held up over the past 3 years.

since you were not impressed with the 06 why would you want an 07-08-they are the same except tire pressure monitor-wait until the 09's arrive. i love my 06 6sd-maybe that was the problem-it was automatic.

Dude, i owned an 04 5AT TSX and when i got my new 06 5AT there was a pretty significant difference in power, especially in VTEC. I did a write up on it a few months back. I know you have 04 6MT which may be a good part of it but to Sclass88, there is def a big difference in power

The difference is mainly above 6000 RPM once VTEC is fully engaged, and there are also improvements in in low-end torque (which you would notice more in a manual than an automatic).

They switched over to SAE net hp in the published figures in 2006 which muddies the waters some, but that's roughly a 15 hp gain when comparing apples to apples.

I love my 06 MT! I drove both an 06 a/t and a 05 a/t and m/t and the 06 m/t still out performs any of them. But if you didn't like it who cares???? lol Wait for the 09 redesign and go from there!

I'm not going to comment on the power difference. I haven't driven an 06+. My TSX is modded somewhat, and its a pretty different feeling from stock, so it isn't a good comparison.

On the 06, I would love bluetooth, the MID, the faster nav, zagat ratings, and all of the added tech features. However, I will say I think the tach and the speedo look kinda cartoony. The 04-05 are bland by comparison, but I think they took it a bit too far, IMHO.

As for the exterior, I would rather have the clean look of the 06 grill, coupled with the clean look of the 04-05 bumpers and aspec kit. Of course, I favor 04-05 wheels, but I would have got rims anyways, so its a moot point.

Unless you felt the opposite (liked the refreshed one more than your 04), I wouldn't even think about trading up... but rather tell myself I'm lucky I have what I like better.

If you owned an 06 first and you were given an 04, you will have the almost same opinions because of the bias of ownership which I respect. Have fun with your 04..peace

I will say that I didn't get to spend much time with the car but initial feeling of more power was not noticeable. I just did not feel like the 07 was THAT much faster than my '04. I did think that there was more punch in the midrange compared to my '04 but honestly, I really did not think the power was remarkable enough for me to want to trade my '04. Perhaps for the Bluetooth and the instantaneous gas mileage readings, yes but not for power. Now a TL-S, that's a different story...

EDIT: And for the record, both my TSX and the '07 were both automatics. I cannot speak for MT because I have never driven the TSX in MT
