I'm a hypocrite - finally bought the NAVI...

Yes, that’s right…. I finally broke down and bought the NAVI… I know I said the NAVI wasn’t worth it in past postings and I even argued the negatives for paying extra for the NAVI, but after one full day of use I must say that the system is WELL WORTH it!

So, how did it happen… Well, I’ve been searching for a 2006 PWP/Ebony w/NAVI in Atlanta, GA for roughly 2 weeks. Until last week, the best price I could obtain was $28,000 since only ONE dealership in GA had the PWP/Ebony w/Navigation.

Obviously, I did not want to pay that amount so I started looking into other states, such as FL, TN, AL. So after a few days of heavy searching I found 5 PWP/Ebony TSXs. After negotiating, the best price I could obtain was $27,700, so there wasn’t much of a difference.

Well…..then I found a 2006 Certified PWP/Ebony w/NAVI with only 7K miles. This car was in FL near Tampa and it MINT condition. I immediately called and negotiated the asking price of $27,800 to $25,900. I was so happy for saving roughly $2K and receiving the extended warranty (62k/100k vs. normal 50k/70k) – quite frankly I think it was better than buying new.

Now, I had to drive 500 Miles to get the car, but my wife and I made the trip into a mini vacation. I am so happy…

Now you can all say….”I told you so!” especially "Fuckleberry"....

Navi and TSX spoils you bad. I drove my sister's Accord V6 04 Sedan and couldn't get over the slow steering, and lack of Navi. The power on the V6 is not that much noticeable and I actually thought the TSX had better lower end grunt and feels so much easier to rev :|. I must be extremely bias

congrats man. i personally woulda went new for 2k difference, but money in your pocket is always a good thing, especially for a car under 10k miles. anyways, congrats on the car, and don't feel bad, you're just another example of why you need to see/use the NAVI before forming an opinion on it. i would bet very few regret getting it, and once you get it, you'll never go without it again.

I'm curious... how many of you other TSXers are getting the extra 10yr/100K limited warranty through your specific dealer?

Thanks....yeah I figured since the car was Certified with only 7K miles that I couldn't go wrong. Sure, there is nothing like a new car, but I can pretend that its new....

Also, there is not a scratch on it....besides the miles I would've thought the car was new.

Oh, I was so wrong about the NAVI - only had it one day and I am glued to that screen - I am finding all these places. I'll tell you that its definitely going to help my marriage...my wife is always saying, "Where do you want to eat" and she never agrees with my suggestions ..... now, I will just use the resturant feature - no arguments now.....

That 2k may seem like a lot initially, but 75% of the non-navs soon realize that they should've spent the extra premium for Nav.

You btw got a killer deal on the 06!

Yes, you got to go NAVI... funny thing is that the best price I could get on the BASE model was $25,700..... so, I only paid $200.00 (price $25,900) more to get the NAVI except my car was Certified and it only had 7K miles on it....and includes a 62k/100k warranty.

Also, I already upgraded my interior lighting to "hyper white POLARG" - makes the inside look so hot! I need to install POLARGs in my license plate lights.....

Great looking car, and good deal!

Do you know who owned the car before? Was it a demo or did someone decide to trade it in soon after buying it?

I'm considering slightly used as well.

the navi is really helpful when driving in places you are unfamiliar with. it has saved my butt a few times when i was lost. once you have a navi, you can't go back. so far all my cars now have navi. and i intend to keep it that way.

Yes, the car was owned by the dealership....actually I think they leased it from Acura. The driver of the Vehicle was their finance manager; she took excellent care of it.

I would highly suggest finding a similiar to this with low miles to save $$$..... BUT as many others have stated...new cars just have that great feeling...

Thanks... The polargs are hot - distinct white light that produces serious light in the cabin w/o that harsh yellow color. Not sure if they are LEDs....the package has japanese writing and I bought them from www.automotivelightingusa.com - I discussed them with the seller prior to purchase and he highly recommended them.

No, I havent seen your pics - SEND Away! I still need to change my door lights and liscense plate lights - plan to do polargs as well.

take care

Thanks man....yeah it was an unreal deal...thats why I drove 500 miles....not too bad however since I went to beach while in FL. But your price of $27,200 on a new model is killer as well!! The best I can get was 27,700 - you snagged a great deal as well...

I would do what you did in a heartbeat. Nothing wrong with a slightly used car in my mind. Some people are paranoid about how they were broken in, taken care of, etc. But with a company like Honda, i really don't think any of that would matter. You got the same car as I did for $2,400 less, granted, prices are different from when i purchased, but still, that's a great deal.

I was talking about it being included. There's a dealer here in Kansas City that includes a 10yr/100K limited warranty. Other than that, I depending on the cost, I don't think I would pay the money.

Ontopic: You got a hell of a deal. Love the color too! I'm a Nighthawk Black owner and I'm thinking, maybe I shoulda gone with white.... less effort keeping it clean
