They suck! The only thing that they are good for is to make a big mess!

What's wrong with them? They don't actually wipe the water off?

 

The driver side wiper always leaves streaks of water on the glass, the passenger side wiper leaves streaks while also leaving a fifth of the glass on top uncleaned. Also, when you are driving, once you are done wiping, drops of water remaining on the wiper would fly back up on to the glass, making it dirty again. It's so freaking annoying!!!!

 

I would have the dealer look at the tension setting. The wipers of my current and previous Honda Accords all worked very well.

Try cleaning the wiper blades (check them for damage). Also make sure that what you use to clean the windshield with isn't causing this. Consider using rainx so you don't even have to put your wipers on.

Rain-X might be the cause? Excessive rain-x is pure evil!

 

My wipers work great.

 

Take windex or any of your favorite window cleaners and run up and down the cleaning portion of the blade. When no more black soot comes of in your cloth use them....it usually works better.

 

How long have you had the car? Or if the car's not new (don't remember whether you have a TSX) how long since you replaced the inserts.

I'm a fanatic about it, and I replace the inserts about every 3 months. New ones usually fix any streaking problem. I'm going to try the windex suggestion, though, to see if I can get more life out of them.

The blowback once they stop is something most cars have, and I agree it's a pain in the ass.

 

Mine do the same thing- they have since the drive home from the dealership...

 

One other thing, try a different washer fluid (and use it). There's this stuff that comes in a small bottle, it's orange....<checks in the garage>...it's called P21S. You dilute it and it works extremely well.

I got my car at the end of April, the wipers were never good. I used Rain-X once, it was good for a few trips, I think it's all gone now. I'll try to windex my blades before the next rain. Thanks for all the ideas.

 

About RainX... try using the Rain-X winshield wiper fluid instead of the wipe-on application. It's way easier. It coats your window everytime you spray your window with your washers. I've been using it for years now and love the results.

But I do think you should still have the dealer check it out since the wipers should have worked perfectly for at least first couple of months.

 

Do what 7or8 is recommending. The Rain-X crap sucks, but their windshield wiper fluid is awesome. Also, clean your windows and blades, that will help. Look up the invisible shield thread, it's a product that cleans your windows really nicely.

 

ugh, I just cleaned my CLS' wipers w/ windex, and now they won't go smoothly AT ALL. they are all choppy and really slow. how do I like, regrease them?

Clean the blades. Use a towell and some Windex on the actual blades. Rain X the sheild. Wipers today should last at least a year. Unless you go BOSCH (Lasts longer!)...expensive but worth it!! The blades on my wifes G20 are almost two years old and work like they did the day we bought um. And it rains ALOT! here in Tampa.

 

Speaking of this, I've been wondering why there is a section in the middle of the windshield (passenger side) that is not getting wiped. An examination of the blade revealed the problem: and forgive me for not knowing car technospeak, I'm not a car geek...but the metal thing that's in between the rubber things...has popped out. next time I'm outside I need to check the windshield itself and see if it's gotten scratched up by this. The car is all of 3 1/2 months old. Will the dealer fix that, you think?

 

I used to wax the windows on my Prelude, never done it to the tsx, water beaded off nicely. I know its ghetto, but it worked.

 

I have PIAA wiper blades and they are awesome! I never have any streaking or noise when they go across the windshield. Yeah they are pricey, but I think being able to see out the window is more important to me. I have had them for about 6 months and they still perform like the day I put them on and we have a lot of rain here in WA!!

Same thing happens to me, it leaves streaks on the drivers side.

And I wouldnt use Windex for youy blades, Windex has ammonia and can actually dry up the rubber of the blades.

 

What is the size of the wiper blades? I couldn't find it in the manual after a quick look.

Mine were great the beginning but now with winter dirt and after a few months they leave streaks. I'm thinking of getting these new ones at Canadian Tire that don't have hinges, they're supposed to be better for winter.

 

When my main wiper goes down, it always flings water onto the passenger side, which the passenger blade cleans on the way up .... except when I finally turn the blades off, in which case I am stuck w/ water on the passenger side.

 

i live in oregon, and it rains tons, so rainx helps, and i put it on any chance i get, and i have no problems with my wipers, probably just gotta clean'em or get new inserts, they're pretty inexpensive.

Well I found out the Honda wiper blades for the Accord and TSX are the same.
So I purchased a set of Honda wiper refills for our TSX and it cleared up our wiper issues. I find that I need to swap out the Honda wiper refills every 6 mo. or so.

It's not too bad and I find the results better then anything I've ever gotten at the autoparts store.

 

Now there's a newsflash

 

i support this problem completely. i get lots of rain/snow and my wipers dont clean, or contact the window enoguh, i clean the wipers and winshield sometimes beforehand as well.
im looking for a heavy duty wiper or something. thanks for any suggestions

i know it's a lame question, but i went to autozone and strauss auto - neither has the TSX blades or refills...

 

Well, I first went to the Acura dealer next to the Honda dealer, Acura was out. of blades so ----They sent me to Honda dealer next door with a part no. I said is the this the Accord blade, they said yes.

So lesson learned, get new refills from Handa-acc. for the 03-05 Accord.

I put these trico teflon wiper blades on my trans am and they are working great even in this snow and crap.. I have a similar problem on my TSX where the drivers side wiper wipes better so i end up with a clear drivers side and a glazed over salty pass side.

I was actualy thinking about replacing them... I''ll let you know the results on the TSX.. but if you want new blades i would highly reccomend those trico's.. They have them at most autozone type places, i got mine at meijer.

 

my wipers seem to work fine. they have been through a long summer in vegas with over 105 degree heat and still hold up in our new lately winter storms. i would go get new blades

 

Are you sure they're the same? I bought the rubber inserts for the Accord thinking they're the same ones used on the TSX a couple of months ago and they weren't. The drivers side one is the same but the passenger side blade is longer than the TSX so I had to trim it up. Now I have to check on the metal strips inside the insert once in a while to make sure it doesn't fall out.

I noticed Honda wipers are very prone to microtare. Don't use the wipers until you melt all the ice off your windshield.

Tell me about it! I put that stuff on my windshield and now every time I use my wipers it squeeks. So freakin annoying! Does anybody know how to get it off????

Maybe the shorter one is from another Honda?
I can only know what they tell me, it should be simple enough just measure the blade and tell the Honda tech you need a refill X-long? But in anycase I got my blades from Honda not Acura.
