How reliable are the stock tires on the tsx? need new tires~

Hey guys I have a 05 tsx and 40k miles. I think the tires are still stock (not the first owner obviously) Lately I've been doing some hard braking and the tires are sliding extensively far. Also, it slides when i do turns a little faster than the average guy. it tries so hard to grip the ground but all you hear is the tires burning.

maybe im just all new to this or bad tires... but yea..
I don't know how to read/gauge my tires. about a cm more/less on each tire.

any suggestions for new tires? (I might get some enkei ekm3 18"- still debating on whether i should or not)

any help provided is greatly appreciated

Replaced mine at 50K but 40K is still commendable for the stock rubber. Don't waste your money on Michelins though... many better options out there for better performance and a cheaper price. Search will get you to the discussion.

The stock tires are crap. They are too hard, dont have any traction in the wet, are very noisy and very expensive. I put some Bridgestones RE-050A Pole Position and the difference in grip is like night and day. I can barely activate the anti-lock brakes even in wet conditions. I personally dont like michelins, I would recommend Bridgestone, Dunlop or Yokohamas.
