I think TSX is a perfect storm for the following groups:
o It is a safe reliable car for parents to gift for birthday/graduation for teens.
o It is a really nice affordable car for the first real car for young professionals just getting out of college.
o It is a nice affordable practical car for older folks, but young at heart (I am in this group).

I would venture to say that most TSX owners over 40 are not in an Acura forum, or even know they exist. Seems to be more for the younger, computer generation........ BTW, love this forum

I would have gotten a TSX for myself as well, but it would have been a 6MT.

47. Spent 10 years in a '93 Tegger LS Special, then just two in a plain '03 RSX, until I finally realized I was too old for go-carts. Picked up the TSX last Dec. 10, and I'm lovin' every mile.

I was 20 when I got my first one back in May 2003.
Before it, I had an Integra that I would have kept forever had it not been met with an ill fate. And before that, I had a beater Chrysler that was a gift from my grandfather. The Chrysler was the only car I didn't pay for on my own.
As for being able to afford it, my parents paid for college (plus me borrowing student loans and earning a number of grants and scholarships) so all the money I made from working while in school I got to keep. Paid for the car, gas, and maintenance, though not the insurance (though keep in mind that gas in Cali was expensive at the time). It also helps that I tend to lease cars and thus have lower monthly payments. Lets me change cars more often.

My payment, after trade in and down payment, is only around $300/month and the cavalier I had was $250/month so its not that big of a difference.

i do agree that there is a positive relationship between age and maturity. but, as with many things in life, there are many other factors involved that may not be identified...

22. And yes, everything is being paid by myself.
My parents cut me off when I graduated high school, but through scholarships, fellowships, and stipends, plus summer internships, I've managed to get through college without any debt at all. Not having a car also helped cut down costs. So buying a TSX is a nice graduation present to myself since I needed a car anyways.

I didnt know that I was in the same age group as most of the people are. I got my tsx on 12/05 and i was 22. I thought I was a little young... but everything I have is what i earned myself.
