A friend bought it new, put down about $12000 and after 3 months he lost his job. He had to choose from keeping his house or new car. Long story short, he asked for $2000 and take over payments! Woo hoo, bought a $26000 for about $10000! Payments?! NONE! A beautiful car in my drive way, priceless..

My GSR was paid off and my insurance company gave me $18500

for the car....So I just used that as the down payment....I ended up having to finance about 10k.

$12,000 down, $348/month for 60 months, although I'm paying extra to pay it off in 4 years. The credit union matched the honda financing of 2.9%, plus turned it into an auto equity loan so that I can write off the interest on the car loan on my income tax returns, much like I do the interest on my home mortgage.
