How much to spend at stereo install shop..
Looking to swap out the door speakers ( probably leave the tweeters? thoughts? ), and either disconnect the 6x9's and add a sub, or swap out the 6x9's for something better and add a sub for those. Probably add a sub for the door speakers as well. So two sub's, four to six new speakers, and possibly another sub.
Has anyone had a system installed. I used to do this way back in the day, but I would rather just pay the money and have it done. Thanks!!

I recently got my door speakers changed out to Memphis 6.5's and added an amp to improve the sound in my car. I spent around $200 on the speakers and $100 on the install. The expensive part is when adding an amp, it is a very time consuming process and costed me around $100 in labor and $200 for the amp.
$200 in labor IMO wasn't too bad at all since it took literally 7 hours for the guy to install both the speakers and amp. That's like $30/hr
I would suggest calling all the local shops within a 10 mile radius to find the best installation deal and buy the parts off amazon or anywhere else.
As for the sub, I have yet to install one, but definitely will be in the near future. Every shop I asked recommended to disconnect the 6x9's and add a 10" sub. I wish I just went ahead and got a 5 channel amp so I can easily connect a sub, but now have to buy a separate amp to power a sub on top of my 4 channel amp.

They qouted me almost $1700. 5 channel Kenwood amp which would power two new speakers in the front, two new speakers in the door, and also the 6x9's. I think I would probably prefer the 6x9's be replaced as well. If the 6x9's didnt provide the kick I need, then the amp would power the sub.
They also suggessted a CleanSweep unit to counteract the head unit adjusting the signal above the 20 volume level.
The labor was $350 for the four speakers, the CleanSweep, and the amp.
