None. I've never gotten a ticket in my life.
And yet I still averaged a 3.5 hour trip at 90mph with peaks at 100...go fig.

No speeding tickets in 12 years and in three months of TSX use, I'm still working on a shutout. Luckily, we Canadians aren't faced with a traffic patrol force that in the U.S., probably outnumbers our own military. Y'all have got WAY more smokies out there. Our local RCMP have been donated an ML320, a Jag X-Type, a VW Beetle and bought a crap load of the obvious Crown Vic's and Impalas. They are so obvious out there. All except the black Silverado with tint that patrols these parts. Their best ghost car is the riced out Honda that actually pulls up beside unknowing cars of a similar style and revs it up, goading them into a race which ends in laughter(cop) and embarrasment(racer - "entrapment!! entrapment!!)

I got a ticket going 70mph in a 50 speed limit in my TSX. It was only 10 days after purchasing the car. I didn't even have my license plates yet, but the cop gave me a ticket anyway. I wrote to the judge that I was going downhill in a brand new car, but the judge didn't buy it and I had to pay. But because I wrote an explanation, I got to pay 2 months after the ticket was issued.

My last ticket was about 10 years ago, so it's about time. Originally posted by buffalo-tsx

I'm now up to my seventh radar detector. (1 original Fuzzbuster-they didn't work, 2 original Escorts-they DID work, 2 Passports and my current pair of Valentine Ones).
I like to drive fast. Or, more precisely, I hate to waste time driving slowly. I think SUV drivers who hug the left lane below the speed limit should be immediately sterilized so they don't reproduce.
I bought my Volvo turbo station wagon because they're fast but sooooo innocuous that just sitting in one for 5 minutes should qualify my family to file a "Missing Persons" report and print my picture on milk cartons.
This is kinda scary, I would have thought that the TSX's styling would blend into the highway background as well as a sniper's camouflage suit.
What color is your TSX?????
mines black both tickets i got were when i let my gf borrow my radar detector i miss my k40. i should make her pay for them oh well another one bites the dust

such a dirty birdy
Got a photo radar ticket 4 days after buying the TSX. 72 km/hr in a 50, CDN$132. Might have been my wife, I'm not certain. I haven't had a real "pulled over by a cop" ticket in over 13 yrs. That last one, I was well into "go straight to jail" territory - nice cop let me off with only a big fine and I've been a very good boy ever since. I don't even have a radar detector any more. Had an original Passport for several years, but it was stolen. Detectors weren't legal here back then, so I couldn't even report the theft. Bummer.
so far just 1, had the car almost 2 months now. was doing 45 in a 25, it was in a business park near my office. i now avoid that road, its apparently become a local speed-trap. time to invest in a valentine 1

I haven't a single speeding ticket or other moving violation...ever! I've had my TSX nearly 3 weeks now, and I can see that my TSX beckons me to "innocently" move fast. It's so sweet, smooth, and quiet! I don't even have to downshift in 6th gear to go faster uphill! I'm truly amazed!!!! Highway 280 North between Highway 85 in Cupertino and Highway 92 in San Mateo __begs__ for 90+ mph. I've done only 80--traffic flow, BTW. That highway has a 65mph limit.

2 so far for me too.
My first one was back in July when I was going up to Cleveland for July 4th weekend. I was running with an ABP TSX going up through Tennessee and we got up to 120 MPH a couple of times, but one time I didn't see the trooper sitting up there on the hill. 88 in a 70, he wrote it for 75 in a 70 and it was a $91 fine. I mailed it in. He was very nice and I was very courteous, and he even complimented me on my car.
2nd ticket was in my home town. I was coming back home from a long day at a wedding shower (drinking and BBQ), then was at my parents. I was tired (had played tennis that morning) and still had some alcohol in me, and got pulled over doing 60 in a 45. After the guy wrote me the ticket, I realized that I knew the guy and had played baseball with him growing up. He apologized for not recognizing me earlier and after he turned his camera off, we talked for a bit. He said that if he had known who I was, he would have let me off with a warning. I wish I would have recognized him earlier! He bumped the speed down to 59 in a 45 so it was only 14 over (less points on the license). It was a $91.75 fine, mailed it in.
I have a radar detector but it quit working about a year ago. It sits in the glove box now and I just watch my speed more closely. That and let the g/f drive whenever I get the chance.

Advanced
Although I normally avg 80+ on the hwy (not during rush hour, of course), I got nailed for 52 in a 35 zone (but he cited 40 as the "safe" speed...which saved me 5 mph on the violation). Got my ticket one month after getting the TSX! Considering I used to drive a 525 for 6 years without a single moving violation, go figger! Someone said probably because the TSX looks so sporty (I have the spoiler)...but sportier than my bimmer? Again, go figger!

TSX JIGALO
It was wide open road and no cars is insight so I decided to see if I can break 100 MPH, so I sped... Little that I knew I was going almost 110 MPH thanks to the C .026 wind efficient.
So I decided to see how far this baby will go ... so I REV up to 142 MPH holly crap this baby moves...! So 20 mins into driving over 140 mph...I got nailed by this state trooper going downhill...I was coming from Cleveland, OH going to Indiana. She caugh me at 130 MPH in a 65 MPH zone.. holy shit! I know its go directly to jail time..but luckily luckily I knew her... She was my ex-gf! LOL what are my freaking chances right? She did give me 10 minute lesson that she would not hesitate to give another ticket or take my ass to jail if she ever caught a stupid stunt. She explained that this was automatic felony for driving recklessly which mean possible jail time and possible revoke of my license. Man I was ever lucky. No ticket just a freaking warning! This was going to be my2nd ticket ever but I did not get it... 1st one was 80 in 65 limit 6 yrs ago...hopefully the last..
At that point of time...it felt better winning than lotto. After that "incident"... I was so shaken what happen...I could not drive for awhile..I guess life stopped at a stand still when I saw that siren lights on my rear view mirror. Im sure you all knew what I mean. Dont speed its not freaking worth the thrill of it. . . I knew my scenario was overkill but even over 20 or 30 the limit is no different than my issue. Its still speeding. period. I was just over the limit by 60 MPH

1 ticket at 85mph. Cop wrote 75 after he noticed I was a student.
I as very lucky. Just before the turn (65 zone), I was doing 100... I was so tired, at least I managed to be smart enough to slow down for the turn. Saved me from getting 2 pts.

2 tickets for me, and they were both a year ago (as I've had my car for 15 months now). First was on the interstate in Tennessee as I was going to Cleveland, OH. I was going 88 in a 70, but he only wrote it for 75 in a 70 and was super nice. No points on license.
Next one was for 60 in a 45. I actually realized I played baseball in high school with the cop (was in my hometown visiting my parents). I talked to him a bit and he said he wished he knew it was me before he wrote the ticket and he would have let me off. He cut it down to 59 in a 45 though so it was under the 15 MPH limit, so no points on license.
Been extra careful since then...don't want anymore tickets!
BTW, my insurance actually went down 44% this year as I have been a "valued long term member" of my insurance company. Go figure!

Haven't had a ticket in 7 years. Got 1 for doing 63 in a 35 but the pig clocked me at 53. Did defensive driving and got it taken off my record. Of course, I don't have a TSX (yet). I have a 98 Accord V6 that topped out at 129mph at one point but I'll never do that again.

In any event, I just beat a double-fine, construction zone ticket (46 in 25) by doing a trial by mail. The cop never replied back to the judge to tell his side of the story.
Final result: Case dismissed in the furtherance of justice.
$362 back to me. I am a happy camper.

I lost my "no-ticket, no pull-over" virginity last night.
It's was 2 AM, I was heading home...dead quiet 1-lane country road.
Limit is 40 I was doing just 65....until that phantom cop appeared behind me.:cop:
The cop mentioned I was 25 over and in this state (CT) is liable to arrest.
I was pretty surprised to hear that. Wasn't sure if he was BSing me.
Now how can I look that fact up ? (don't find it in the state drivers manual)
What is the "official" term for this kind of offense ?
He gave me a warning after asking irrelevent questions
("where you coming from ?" "what were you doing there?" "where you headed ?" "what's the hurry?")

That was the kind of thing I got my last ticket for. Residential neighborhood at the edge of a commercial zone, and apparently you're not allowed to turn lout of a couple of parking lots into the residential area. No left from one side, no right from the other.Originally Posted by sleeper

Unfortunately, the signs are pretty well hidden. Did traffic school so no points, but I have to stay clean for a while or the violation comes back.
Last speeding ticket was in Nevada more than 10 years ago. Got me for 88, somewhere between Salt Lake and Reno. The guy was nice. I know I was going faster, but I suspect he didn't want to be bothered with taking me in. I've since learned that on those western interstates you want to stay within about 15mph of the limit. Below that they won't bother you. Since the limits are 75 on most of them, that allows me to cruise between 85 and 90. I'll sometimes go faster on open sections where you can see what is (and isn't) waiting for you.

Most places will generally use 20 over the limit as the point where they haul you in. It does vary though.Originally Posted by blackjackman

In California 100mph is a maximum limit, but that doesn't mean they can't call you reckless well below that speed. In fact, you don't need to be speeding to be reckless.

Speeding 20 or more mph on the street or 30 or more mph on freeway + Reckless Driving under California Vehicle Code Section 23103 while under the influence results in mandatory additional and consecutive sixty (60) days in custody. Court cannot strike this allegation via California Penal Code §1385. A finding under this section absent a determination that it is an unusual case where the interests of justice are served thereby California Vehicle Code § 23582(c).
Edit: The above is only if your caught DUI.

Just got one last week - 78 in a 65 in Virginia - I-295 near Richmond. I was pretty pissed off, since there was nobody on the road and I'm just plodding along in the right lane. But no, he gave it to me anyway. NJ plates will do that for you
