The V6 is the reason I would have looked at another TSX when its time to replace my 04. But I won't be in the market for a new car anytime soon. And even if I was, the lack of an MT takes it off my list.

I'd like to know what this does to the balance of the car. The TSX is already nose heavy, I think I read the V6 and its accessories will weigh the car down approximately 130 more lbs? Any truth to that?

Also no MT = people like me wont even consider it.

I was hoping they'd give the 4 cylinder a reprogram, hit the high cam at 5k and a slightly more aggressive high cam for 215 to 220 hp.

i believe its the same motor as the 09' base TL. if that's true, i've test driven a 09' base TL and let me tell you, there is NO excitement in terms of acceleration. none of the the pin-you-in-your-seat sorta' power. the motor is very mild tempered and pulls that way all the way through the rev range. it *is*sneaky fast since you don't really feel the power coming on tho.

i'll keep my screaming 4-banger, thank you very much.

I like simple design of the first generation and I really have some doubts about the nimble/light feel of the car. The most important reason why I wont be looking into it is the fact that I changed the things that I didnt like about my own TSX (speakers, noisy tires, lack of torque) and now I am really in love with it

I like my 06 with SS and incredible styling better than a V6 Saturn... I mean TSX.

I would like to test drive a new one though just to see how it feels.

I don't want a stick, so that doesn't bother me. V6 is enticing, but I will wait and see about handling and price. Need a test drive.

I hope every one of you who is saying that you are not interested because there is no manual currently owns a manual transmission car and has purchased one in the last 5 years. We are a dying breed of car enthusiast and it is pissing me off that finding a used car with a manual these days is like hunting for a needle in a haystack...

Same here meng....why cant they just turbo the TSX and add SH-AWD (like the RDX) i love my 4 cylinders, 6 will guzzle a bit more gas.

Agreed on all points.

I'm disappointed that Honda/Acura would eliminate the only redeeming factor of the 2G TSX, but I can't say it's all that surprising. Considering that they had already taken away almost all of the 1G TSX's sporty characteristics from the new generation, this sounds like a logical progression. It's obvious to me that Honda/Acura is now striving to be a Toyota/Lexus clone .

-about the size of the G2 for balance,

I'm actually pretty content with my 07 TSX. I feel that the 4 cylinder provides adequate acceleration. Although the V6 would be nice, I can't justify spending the money to upgrade to another FWD sedan. If this new 2010 was going to have the SH-AWD, then I would SERIOUSLY consider upgrading. I really like the new TSX, but unless they put SH-AWD in it, I'm not going to bother.

Happy with my 05. There is no point to me getting a new car, new car payment, etc, especially considering that with a little care, it'll run for another 100k (most of which I will not have a car payment for).

Besides that, if I were to make some sort of jump, it'll be to a used m5/540 or 996 911

^ Aye, upgrade to a better car. Although I love my 06 TSX, upgrading it to a v6 is not really worth it, especially if its still going to be FWD.

i doubt it will be 280. the tls barely makes that power. there is no way they r going to put that power into the tsx. they jus need to to the turbo version they were talking about doing. and if they put a v6 in the tsx they would have to make it a bit larger for the added motor. so i doubt they will put a v6 in it.

jus seems a little odd to me for them to be putting a auto v6 in the tsx. much of us would rather see them turbo the current motor.

It's not wrong. I got the press release straight off Honda's web site and everybody's known about this for a while now.

I think most of us feel the same way. Too bad Honda/Acura doesn't agree.

It may seem odd to us and we would rather see the turbo/awd. Us/we = AZ/enthusiasts. But we make up ~0.0005% of acura sales and normal everyday person wants a fwd/v6/at sedan as sales have clearly shown. What acura is doing should, without a doubt, increase tsx sales.

It was a choice on Honda/Acura's part to offer the V6 vs a turbo 4. And I think its a choice that's more in line with the direction they're trying to go in. With this latest generation of Acura's they seem to be moving more towards a luxury auto maker. The removal of the RSX from the lineup, the recent redesign of the TSX, all designed to make the Acura lineup more luxurious as a whole, less sporty. The average uninformed consumer would look at the TSX, see that it has a 4 cylinder engine, and move on without giving it a second glance. I guess what I'm trying to say is that V6 equates more to a luxury car vs a turbo 4, which equates more to a sports car. IMHO.

I had an 09 TL loaner a few weeks ago for a few days. It had noticibly more power in the low end than the TSX, but it seemed to hit its peak much earlier. But the gas mileage was absolutely horrible. I went out of town when I had the TL. 80 miles of open highway each way. And I got worse gas mileage than I do in mixed driving with the TSX.

All that said, no I won't be trading in my 08 for a V6. I personally don't see the need for it. And I prefer the simplicity of the 1G over the 2G.

Maybe so, but whats with FWD then? It just sickens me that they take away manual transmission and leave it with FWD. If they really want to progress in a sporty direction, make RWD cars !!!

I agree on multiple points here.

I don't want a v6-auto in a tsx, I would rather step up to a TL at that point.

my 06 6mt has plenty of power already, it's not a fast car, but for daily driving it moves and maintains decent gas mileage.

I don't want another payment. though this car could be an option for my wife in 2 years when we're looking for her next car.

I really think that a turbo 4 sh-awd would have been a good move for acura to have in the line up. a turbo 4 tsx wouldn't interfere with sales of a v6 sh-awd tl.

I'm curious to see if these sell well or if people opt to just get into a TL for a little bit more.

Definitely not interested for these reasons:

1. No MT = boring
2. Not a fan of high hp FWD. To me, 230ish is the limit for FWD.
3. The 2nd gen styling just isn't appealing to me.
4. Not a fan of the J-series motor.

I'm glad to have my 04 TSX 6MT.
