How many actually use the "Sportronic" feature in the TSX?

The sportshift is great....i use it about 95% of the time.
And i can vougue for shifting into N thinking it was an upshift on the sportshift. It makes it a lot more fun to drive and then when you get in traffic or the city you can use it as an auto....its a great feature.

I haven't used it yet since I am still in the break in period. I have a feeling I will use it a decent amount of the time though not all of the time. If I wanted to shift all of the time I would have gotten the 6MT.

well anyway There is much worse of a delay if your in fully auto mode, SS makes the cars shifting at least tolerating , I cant stand how the car feels in Drive mode... Shame there not a chip, like for the BMW 325 AT, that can make it shift faster, for the TSX (Yes, a Fully Automatic Tranny, not SMG, that can shift faster then a Manual Transmission)

In regards to the slow 1-2 shift in SS mode, I've found that you need to shift at around 4k while gradually applying throttle. First seems a little short to me so shifting earlier makes the shift quicker IMO. As far as you guys that won't use it cause your breaking your car in. That's the best time to use it. The key to breaking in a new engine is to vary the rpms. Nothing works better than SS for that.

There's a huge diff between making a mis-shift, and not being able to "manage to drive" a car. Since I was driving an MT when you popped out of the chute, I don't think I've lost all my abilities.
And as far as the computer is concerned, as has been pointed out, it shields you from the worst situations, but "never" is again the wrong word - especially if you want to use the engine drag in a corner...

Everytime I use the sportshift, it reminds me of how poor of a substitute it is to driving a true manual. It's OK for an automatic, but by no means does it feel "sporty" in any way. So, after about a month, I've pretty much stopped using it completely.

yeah, unfortunately its still not a stick... Personally Im a Self Hater, lol, so I feel like im at least shifting on my own if im in SS mode, Drives my Left foot nuts, but I gotta at very least do my own shifting, once again my Next Cars gonna be a 5 speed, RWD w/ shitty Gas Milage, and as much as I love my TSX, Very much looking forward to Having a Clutch and RWD

Ech some people dont use the SS mode, Elephant (change ur name).... some people brought the AT because they wanted a fully auto transmission, some of us, arn't those people, those of ur who miss driving the stick enough use ss alot, those who have played Gran Turismo use it alot... some use it for passing and thats really about it...the 80 year old guy in a TSX, or the non car enthusiast isnt going to use it

My TSX is only a day old, but I have played with it. I think I will use it when I want to scoot around in traffic, pass on a two lane highway and when I want to have fun.
Essentially when I am laid back I will use that AT, when I am in a hurry I will use the SS.
The SS is pretty good. I liked it in the test drive car as well. It's not a manual, but it is still a lot of fun.
In a couple of weeks I will post my real life use.

Since I got my TSX two days ago (and have driven 200 miles in 2 days ) I've done about 50/50. I plan to use it more once the car is fully broken in and I can really let her go. I haven't driven a manual in years, so it's taking a little getting used to, that, and the no clutch thing is weird too. I like it a lot though, I'm just a little worried about messing up my trann/engine.

I use the sportshift quite often, often on the freeway when I need to pass a slower-moving car in medium traffic. Downshift to 3rd (or 2nd below 50mph), and with power on standby, wait for a good opportunity to pass. Pop it back into "D" after the lane change is complete.

Yeah, but a few times my shifts haven't been as smooth as I would have expected. I'm still breaking in so I'm not under hard acceleration or anything like that. I'm sure things will be fine, I just get a little nervous sometimes, I don't want to mess up my car.

i basically never use it, as most of my driving is in traffic or stop and go, or city driving.
i have used it a few times just to get into the vtec range and to see it do its thing. but thats about it and it only really is worthwhile when you have a really open road etc.

low rpms. It may reduce shifting vs auto mode and be
better for the tranny, by using the whole rpm range. It's
also better for the motor to use the whole rpm range.
The shifting is instantaneus and hard to resist, vs pushing down
the pedal and waiting.
If your new to the car don't feel bad. Even though I haven't
driven a manual for 10 years, I keep shifting down for
1 to 2, manual habit was hard to break. I finally stopped
doing that in the 2nd week or so.
